Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 24, 2009 1:37 pm Hi Everyone,
After a thousand and one headaches after encountering some issues with my build, we will be going to site Monday 26... Can't wait to see things finally getting started! What has everyone's experiences been in the time taken from site start to slab being done? I am just trying to work out when I can celebrate a slab on my block! Thanks everyone! Re: Take 2 - Building at Lightsview, Northgate 2Oct 25, 2009 9:16 am Wow, Lightsview - you disappeared for ages - I was thinking you must have been off and running with your house at lock up by now. I thought you must have been busy with the actual build and that is why you haven't had time to post anything. Good to see you back and know that things are finally on there way then. To answer your question - we had our site scrape on the 4-9-09, and our slab was finally poured on the 13-10-09. The delay was mainly because of the weather, so you should be much luckier with the worst of it out the way and the beautiful weather here. Looking forward to hearing how things progress! It will happen when it happens, ringing your SS or stressing about it dosnt make it happen faster, in fact it makes it seem longer. Wait till the end, my house is basically done, its painted the roller doors are on, just need downlights, silicon sealing, cleaning and flyscreens. So this should take 3 days right?, wrong he reckons final inspection in 2 weeks. Relax and enjoy. To answer your question, site start for me was 29th April where they levelled the ground, the trenches were dug on the 5th of May, and the plastic/plumbing done 6th of May, and concrete was 7th May, and one week later I had my frames up. Re: Building at Lightsview, Northgate - Trenches have been dug!! 4Nov 02, 2009 6:15 pm Trenches were dug today!! Re: Building at Lightsview, Northgate - Trenches have been dug!! 5Nov 02, 2009 8:40 pm Good news- means the slab is only a matter of a day or 2 away! Getting exciting. P.S. DH and I went for a drive through Lightsview on the weekend after you let us know how to get it. We were amazed by how much it has already progressed. Those parks are just gorgeous too - will be great for dogs, kids or just a leisurely stroll (or if your lucky enough, a decent view) Blog:http://tamdaz-themajestic.blogspot.com The Majestic - Henley - Adelaide Thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20635 Day 200 23-4-10 You have mandatory building inspections and privately engaged building inspections.
