Re: Building a Clarendon Promenade @Pemulwuy: Handover! 238May 08, 2010 9:19 pm I definitely enjoying my weekends now - lots of stuff to do and no need to brainstorm ideas for "which activities" ![]() Some picture from yesterday: 1. Ironbark has arrived. For the day I had 10 packs like those. Lex, what is your area? What you see is to cover 180m2 plus 8% wastage. It was a tough work to carry it inside, so you'd better to make sure your hubby's level of fitness is high ![]() Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 2. Re: Building a Clarendon Promenade @Pemulwuy: Handover! 239May 08, 2010 10:46 pm So, those 6 packets on pic 1 really hold all of the 180 m2 (plus 8% wastage)?! How long are these packs?? And did it say on the package how heavy it is? Trying to figure out how many BHs I'll need to move that ![]() ![]() We need around 70 m2 for ground floor (plus 10% wastage for slimwood) and 100 m2 for top floor (plus 8% wastage for 19mm). So, all up and including wastage, max approx 183 m2. This is if I use a very generous measuring technique. My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... And did it say on the package how heavy it is? I should say that a pack is around 5-6 metres long (as you might remember the longest boards the NRT supply are 5.7 metres). Those 6 packs were something around 4 tonnes. They had about 2600 lm (~203 m2) of "good quality" timber and 200 lm (~17 m2) of extra stuff. We will attempt carrying Tallowwood upstairs tomorrow... Should be a bit of a bugger I reckon: one board a time, up the stairs, ensure we won't scratch the walls. And yeah - MAKE SURE you get hight quality gloves to protect hands. The timber of a very good quality but there are still a few chances to get splinters. ... built a Promenade with Clarendon. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=25104 20-10-09 - excavation and piering completed ... 12-04-10 - Basins fixed.
