Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 21, 2009 11:25 am Just wondering if anyone has had big M set up provisions for water to be used from a tank for the laundry & toilets. I'd rather have M set the pipework up to where the tank will be, and later on i'll get my own guy to plumb it all up with my own tank / pump etc. Has anyone done this, if so how much was it to setup approximately? Re: BIG M - Provision for tank water -> toilet / laundry 2Oct 21, 2009 11:34 am We had to have a tank and it had to be connected to laundry/toilets. It was pretty exy to..about 8k - 5000l slimline tank, slab, pump, connected to 3 toilets and laundry...wouldn't let us do it afterwards Built Liberty 42 - Handover 26th Feb 2010 forum thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17243 Re: BIG M - Provision for tank water -> toilet / laundry 3Oct 21, 2009 11:41 am wow, that is exy. could easily do it with under half that with the provisions there already is that a state requirement to have the tank connected? Re: BIG M - Provision for tank water -> toilet / laundry 4Oct 21, 2009 12:09 pm My DA requirment was the choice of either solar hot water or water tank. The tank with M was over $7K, the solar hot water was a standard inclusion. I will be installing a tank after handover! Re: BIG M - Provision for tank water -> toilet / laundry 5Oct 21, 2009 12:14 pm did they provide the option for a provision to plumb the tanks to the toilets? i.e. capped water points running from toilets -> location of tank? Re: BIG M - Provision for tank water -> toilet / laundry 6Oct 21, 2009 12:41 pm We did this XT4V. It is still compulsory in Qld to have a tank when building a new home. M was going to charge 8k for 3000L. Made some enquiries with our Sales guy, we could do it ourselves and then we couldn't, M didnt want to committ. In the end they let us, we paid 2600 for plumbing (quoted in nov 08) and we bought our own 7000L tank for around 3k so we saved a bit in the end and had no problems with plumber installing it all. Been in 3 months, yet to have some decent rain so we havent been able to use it yet. I got my builder (PD) to do that for me, so once I get a tank, pump and water I can hook it up to the toilets 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' It says "to all sanitary flushing systems", which is one upstairs and one downstairs. I asked quite a few times to take the tank out of contact but they wouldn't let me ... everyone else must have asked the right way Built Liberty 42 - Handover 26th Feb 2010 forum thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17243 Re: BIG M - Provision for tank water -> toilet / laundry 12Oct 23, 2009 1:13 pm btherl We are building with M in Victoria, and our rainwater tank provision is $1,565.
