Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3270Feb 12, 2012 8:31 pm Hi All, I am new to the Forum, I have been reading quite a bit of useful information which has been posted. We purchased Lot 4144/ 30 Schulten St back in July last year & settled in December. Our plans are currently in the process of being drawn up, we are building with McDonald Jones & its sounds like we are one of the first to use MDJ in Georges Fair. If anybody is from 32 Shulten St/Lot 4143 I would like to hear from you. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3271Feb 12, 2012 9:00 pm Welcome to the forums! You are the first one building with MDJ to post on forums. Also for all the Facebook users, Georges Fair now has its own FB page. I went outside once. The graphics were alright, but the gameplay sucked! Settlement:22nd June Slab:27th August Frame:16th Sept Bricked:21st Oct Roof:24th Nov Linings HANDOVER23rd March! My gf and I have just started exchange on Lot 3215 / Hoy St and we will be building with WH. GF of ^. Thanks for the welcome, very excited that things are finally moving along! Chanced upon this thread while looking for feedback on builders back in Dec last year. Can see that there's a friendly lot around, and I'm looking forward to future meets! Has anyone else who purchased land recently found the Investa solicitors very slow/unreliable? We put down the holding deposit in Dec and didn't receive the contract until 31st Jan, then they got multiple things wrong on the first page, including my name, our solicitor's contact number, pages of the 149 cert were missing, etc. Tender presentation with W was last Friday, and came up to more than we were originally quoted, which was mostly fine and not totally unexpected. This is our 1st home/1st build though so I'm cautious about ensuring we're not getting fleeced. Plans are being drawn now and I'm hoping someone can answer a few variation questions we have. Can anyone advise what they were quoted/paid for steps for their place? We were told due to the need for a drop-edge beam, we would also need steps (approx. 2) to the front porch. W quoted $3.2k for concrete steps, ceramic tiles and a 230mm blade wall on either side. This seems like an awful lot for just 2 steps and 2 walls to me. For those who are getting the NBN, where did you locate the NBN power source unit? We were quoted $330 to move this unit to the Master Suite WIR, but not told where it was being moved from. We've asked why it's being moved as we would be happy with the unit being next to the NTD on the garage side wall if that's the original location. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3278Feb 13, 2012 8:59 pm Hey Blurbel On the steps note. Surely that price is for the steps AND drop edge beam. That sounds about right for a D.E.B. depending on the height. We paid about 3K for ours and it was roughly a foot high. Just check with the builder if thats what they meant. Cant comment on the NBN, we missed out. Built too early. For all your joinery needs, we custom build kitchens, office, wardrobes, garage, laundry fit outs plus TV units, pantry, linen and everything in between. PM me for more info or details. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3279Feb 13, 2012 10:54 pm NBN connection is where your connection come into the house. Mine is in my garage or so the electrician told me I went outside once. The graphics were alright, but the gameplay sucked!
