Yes our land was registered.
Apparently this is how it works, if its registered, you don't get a choice on the fixed tender?? Can someone else who bought already registered land confirm this?

I would have thought your solicitor would have picked that clause up.. Yes our land was registered. Apparently this is how it works, if its registered, you don't get a choice on the fixed tender?? Houda ---- Built the Lincoln 35 at Georges Fair Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3202Feb 03, 2012 4:15 pm Got a call from our builder today saying that they will have to raise a variation to allow for the extra cost of cabling into our house because of the NBN. Apparently a different cable has to be run into the house that is more expensive than the normal copper. This will put our plastering back 3-4 days.Watch this space. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3203Feb 03, 2012 5:53 pm yeah painter will finish next week. SS reckons early march. SCORE!!!!!!! @ Billmac I think CAT6 is the min standard for NBN ??? I went outside once. The graphics were alright, but the gameplay sucked! Bill thats correct, The NBN Co run the fibre all the way to the point you have nominated which is FREE at the moment. So really all the builder needs to do is install the internal conduit to your nominated point from the PCD (external NBN box). Im guessing the cable they are referring to is cat6 which is for your network points in any of the rooms u have selected. I did all of ours myself over the xmas break, I think it cost me $50 for the conduit and a pull rope. All the info is here http://www.nbnco.com.au/assets/document ... d-mdus.pdf They have also installed our PCD so here is a few pics http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa340/doono7983/Building/IMG_0201.jpg http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa340/doono7983/Building/IMG_0200.jpg Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3206Feb 04, 2012 6:10 am Pawer Anyone here have their NBN up and running ? are they really really fast ? 3A is the first in GF to get the NBN, max speed is 100Mbps v's 2.4Mbps for ADSL2+ Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3208Feb 04, 2012 4:40 pm Hi everyone, I've just received a letter from NRMA home insurance telling me that "through the continual updating of local council flood mapping, terrain data and insurance infomation" they have identified that my home In Christiansen Boulevard has a risk of flooding. They have listed two premiums on my renewal notice, one with flood cover and one without and the different is you have to pay extra 3k plus to have the flood cover. Can I ask anyone here if you have the same situation as me and what is your advice ? Last year the premium that i paid with flood cover only $600. Many thanks. Saville23 Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3209Feb 04, 2012 10:59 pm WOW wont be going with NRMA!! I would look into another insurance company. I went outside once. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3211Feb 05, 2012 10:26 am AAMI and GIO had no problem ALLIANZ however did In regards to flooding a couple of the creeks and rivers that flow into the Georges on the woronora plateau (which provides a large percentage of water to the upper Georges) have dried up due to long wall mining ( search Waratah Rivulet and O'hares creek on google) Flood mitigation on the Georges since '88 should really put to rest the risk IMHO This is a photo of the '86 flood Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ the intersection of Newbridge and Henry Lawson is still above water and our houses would sit at or above this level IMO I went outside once. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3213Feb 05, 2012 11:22 am No problems I have always had issues with NRMA regarding insurance. They seem to rely on the old association they had with NRMA road services IMO to justify themselves. I was insured with NRMA for a car until I was deemed too much of a risk because I put OEM alloy wheels on my car. With that I wiped my 7 yr association and found another insurer willing to insure a car with OEM alloy wheels. Shop around every year for insurance because you will find if you find a better price the current insurer may match or better your lowest quote just to keep your business I went outside once. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3214Feb 05, 2012 6:18 pm Hey guys, Can anyone explain to me how this fence thing works? are we suppose to wait till all our neighbors finish construction and settle in before fence is put up? How does it work? Thanks Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3215Feb 05, 2012 6:44 pm No. First in best dressed. Get some quotes. More than one. Discuss it with your neighbours. They are also entitled to get quotes. Decide between you all which contractor will do the job. Discuss payments, make sure EVERYONE is happy. If your first to get keys of all your neighbours, just let them know asap that you require the fence straight away. It shouldn't be a problem most times out of ten but in some cases like ours, our neighbour couldn't get access to his backyard with a bobcat so did so before I organised the fence.
