Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2702Aug 31, 2011 9:44 pm mecha-wombat we went with our own Mw - so you don't have to choose from the 7 they have? the tender presenter told us we didn't have a choice and couldn't change anything is that true? Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2703Aug 31, 2011 10:00 pm Initially you choose one of the seven. Then you go to HOG and you can play around with it from there We are having Colourbond so the boards can be modified to suit (most of our colours come from the display of the cremorne that is at hoxton park I went outside once. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2704Aug 31, 2011 10:27 pm hi RandH We just came up with our own scheme we didn't have to stick with the colour options EB have on the boards. We drove around the estate to get ideas. The colour consultant we got was pretty helpfull. Be prepared for a long day when you have your colour appointment and a few disagreements too lol Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2705Sep 01, 2011 8:53 am We have our tender presentation tomorrow at EBH, and we have choosen our own colours, if you really look at the houses at GF not all of them actually follow the GF Design Guidelines Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2706Sep 01, 2011 10:18 am RichandKat hi RandH We just came up with our own scheme we didn't have to stick with the colour options EB have on the boards. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2708Sep 01, 2011 10:10 pm But also remember that you can change/add/remove things up to a certain point so check with the builder when that is as you would hate to be stung with an admin fee plus the cost of the alteration. My advice is to walk through your plan in your head and try to imagine what should be where. For example we looked into furniture, whether it was existing or still to be purchased, and sized it up on the plan to see what fits where so we could determine where the tv goes, where the gas points go, extra power points etc. It may seem early to look into furniture but you would hate to pay for a power point only to cover it with the lounge. The more you go over your plan, the more things come to mind before it's too late. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2715Sep 02, 2011 10:21 pm Hi Guys, Im just wondering if any one can give me a bit of feedback - we finally received our land contracts in the mail today after a two week wait and they have come from a solicitor that is not even mine, i have never heard of this firm yet they seem to have all my details. When we paid our holding deposit i gave Jackie all the contact details for our lawyer so im thinking she may have mixed it up with another my real issue is that is basically says in the documents that now that they have now work for us we are required to pay $350 which i don't really wont to do as its not my lawyer and not the details i have given to Jackie. if any one has had an issue like this can you please let me know how you proceeded. thanks Rachel Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2716Sep 02, 2011 10:36 pm R&A Hi Guys, Im just wondering if any one can give me a bit of feedback - we finally received our land contracts in the mail today after a two week wait and they have come from a solicitor that is not even mine, i have never heard of this firm yet they seem to have all my details. I work for a legal firm, have been a legal secretary for 15 years so know enough, and that by law they should have provided you with a costs estimate/agreement and unless you have signed it and returned it to them, or given them oral instructions to act on your behalf then you do not owe them a thing. Try and give them a call first thing Monday. We will def be at the family fun day, I can't believe it has been a year since the last one. I remember sitting in the park and feeling so down that our dream of living in GF seemed so far away. Our land hadn't been registered, we hadn't even signed with a builder and yet here we are a year later GF residents and we will actually be able to walk up to the park. We may even sneak in some bubbles as well LOL Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2717Sep 02, 2011 10:42 pm Well I have to sit through the last one and now this one HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I cant wait for it to be open then I can play at the park and keep an eye on the build at the same time!
