Our garage is single with 3m wide. How about yours? And which lot are you in? If any one in this forum could share your successfully experience on the driveway layback issue, that would be much appreciated! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5503Oct 17, 2013 1:33 pm sanmutgi I recieved a letter from council stating that the Golf course will be moved to hammondville and marvic homes will be constructed. On the map shown, it indicates Private recreation near the pond area and close to Brickmakers. Any idea if that will be a park in future? I thought I might have received something about this, but I guess our house is too far out of it. Are you able to provide a scan of the letter? I've had a look on the councils site, but found nothing. I wanted to get the builders quote for everything, apply for my mortgage and see what mortgage i get and then maybe take stuff out that i can get done at a later date or elsewhere cheaper. Can anyone advise what they did at this stage with MCDJ? Thanks Helen Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5505Oct 18, 2013 9:41 pm rachnshane Hi all, So yesterday i got told that i need to make my driveway entry smaller as it is too big. Just wondering how everyone went with getting money back from Investa? Also, what were your arguments?? Rach We builded with WH and he said the council change the regulation on it. So it ur building double garage then its fine but if single garage then u hv to make it narrower. WH was trying to argue for us but council pretty much said this is how it is if u want it approve!! So we hv to pay extra to re-do the curb side. But my next door neighbour drive way is just complete but they havnt make it narrower. So i wonder if the builder would hv to strip it of and do it again!!! I'll be pretty annoy if they dont hv to Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5506Oct 19, 2013 5:09 am Hi guys, can anyone recommend a tv antenna guy?been quoted between $250-$350, is't reasonable Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5507Oct 19, 2013 6:13 am tigers31 Hi we are building with MCDJ and have our colour selection appointment in 3wks, the lady told us that we have to chose everything that day and sign it off and if we want to make any changes or take anything out e.g get our own tiling completed elsewhere we will be charged an admin fee, is this correct? Can anyone advise what they did at this stage with MCDJ? Thanks Helen You are right Helen. You will be charged if you change or modify anything after you sign the contract. They are a bit expensive like any other builders but when I did the price comparison with the other builders MDJH seem to be a bit cheaper than other builders in the estate. If you go with the builders the tiling and driveway will be expensive but the quality and finish will be great. If you are on a tight budget you will be better off doing it outside of the settlement. Remember to increase the height of the skirting if you choose to do the tiles by an outsider because the skirting Canot be removed since it is a steel frame home and they Canot handover without putting the skirting on. So you win some and loose some, that's the game with all the builders. Good luck for your colour selection. Those girls in the colour studio did a fantastic job for us. I remember seeing them on ebay a while ago for pretty cheap. It may just scare them away. Otherwise cower in the corner with a baseball bat until the little punks come again. That would be my first option haha. Looks like young morons roaming the streets (hope not some ones kids that already live GF) have enjoyed throwing rocks through windows. There are smashed front windows Conlon Ave, maybe also other streets. They better hope I never catch them because I don't play nice. They are cheap now, you can grab a 4 camera system for under $400/- They even reduce your Home & Contents insurance premium a bit, either way they are cheaper than the excess. Yep had the same issue yesterday until a decided to power cycle the NBN unit (as in turn it off, wait a couple of minutes, turn it back on - restart the router after that too). Works fine now, could of been coincidence. Sometimes when I drove there(Conlon ave) I saw some kids are roaming along the street and to the brickmakers drive(the kids are probably from neighboring town). It was around 8-9 oclock at night. I think every house in GF has security alarm. Does the security alarm linked to police station or any security company? I live in Newington at the moment, and I often see SECOM(a security company) patrolling the town.
