Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 4845Mar 14, 2013 4:03 pm A couple of months ago, I heard that Lidcombe successfully defended from nuclear waste site coming into their area. I am not sure how they managed but I think they were successful because many has participated in the objection/protest together with neighboring suburb(?). I believe some/many of resident in GF still don't exactly know what's going on even they received the letter about the plant, and don't know about this forum neither.. Mailing posters with different languages(about how the recycling plant will affect our life, and how it will affect even to neighboring suburbs) to GF residents/neighboring residents will be good. And we will gain more power on our voice. Investa(developer) should mail those posters to every land purchasers too. Also, I think the poster should inform how to act/participate the protest. When we have many people's support from GF/neighboring suburbs, having a legal demo (and being on 7 or 9 news) will be good idea(?) I don't live in GF yet, but do we have a sort of community meeting in GF? Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 4846Mar 14, 2013 7:21 pm There is something I am confused about, who is currently opperating the plant with the high piles of dirt at the far end of Brickmakers ?? Has Benedict aready relocated to chipping Norton ? Is it the mob proposing the recycling plant the one that owns that land? Benedict's recycling is in chipping norton, Benedict's sand quarry is between George's fair and flower power which is what you can see however all the sand has nearly been mined. It is dated years after their application which shows landowners consent being given. Please draw attention to this blatant lack of fact when you are submitting your objections. Fi Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 4854Mar 14, 2013 9:56 pm Hi All Thanks for all the valuable information about this Recycling Plant fiasco.... I've been looking through the Internet trying to find public cases against Moorebank Recyclers as supporting cases against how detrimental this would be to us based on the same company causing residents near the Parramatta river problems.... Upon my travels I have found this very interesting Easement case between MR and T aka B from what it says... It gives a huge timeline of events, whose made decisions etc... Really interesting.... Did you guys know that Investa needed to advise the council on whether Brickmakers Lane was going to be private or Public? I'm wondering just how much everyone is really involved in all of this... Why make a road public when your trying to create an environment that everyone enjoys.... A very interesting read... http://www.caselaw.nsw.gov.au/action/PJ ... tid=162531 This case has everything we need to know including Rta letters objecting the 350 plus trucks for the development etc... Boral would have known all about this and we have been mislead all along... Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 4855Mar 15, 2013 11:57 am Hi guys Has anyone been in touch with Investa to see what the deal is. Some advise from someone who knows what they are talking about: I note that in your Contract your land is zoned residential. Obviously the land that the recycling plant is proposed to be on is not residential land. Nothing mentioned in the 149 certificate. Why the developer did not mention it as it has obviously been on the cards for a while but has come and gone a few times. I suggest you be one of the hundreds who call the selling agent to see what they have to say. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 4856Mar 15, 2013 3:19 pm Scared1sttimebuilder - I have been liasing with Investa. Rest assured knowing they are doing their best to formulate an adequate objection to this facility. They are 100% against it. And before anyone says anything about why they are only onto it now, it is important to note that in 2006 when they were first informed about this possible development, they were also told that it was unlikely to ever go ahead. I think a lot of organisations in the area thought the same thing. I have been informed that Investa were only made aware of the application back in 2011 when we were all notified, and have had information regarding it available on the George's Fair website since then. They have initiated their formal objection once they received the letter in the mail that we all received the other week. I am sure Investa will do all they can to stop this facility as they have a vested interest in it, as we do. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 4857Mar 15, 2013 3:57 pm Hello Bek I do understand and appreciate the fact the Investa is against the recycling plant as they still have a lot of land that needs to be sold. We purchased the land mid 2012 and were not made aware of the development. We are in the process of building and Investa have our postal and email address on file however we never get any updates, etc Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 4858Mar 15, 2013 4:54 pm Yes I understand that, and I actually totally sympathise with you. I guess I can see two sides of the fence is all. The developer doesn't have any obligation to inform future purchasers of all upcoming developments in the area. That's up to the purchaser and his/her solicitor to look into. It's like them having to tell all purchasers that there is an application for a Dan Murphy's across the street from the Sales Office. Or that more houses will be built on the golf course rendering all the "Fairway view" residents unlikely to actually see the golf course. It sounds a little deceitful, but they're ultimately selling land to people and it's not in their best interests to warn people about upcoming negative developments. As purchasers we have to take it upon ourselves to do our research! It's like the people who have built along Brickmakers drive who are complaining they were deceived about the road, when the road was on the masterplan since day dot. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 4859Mar 15, 2013 7:28 pm Re the Brickmakers drive, when we enquired about building close to the drive we were informed that it will be open to local traffic only, no trucks. I do understand what you are saying but at the same time things are told just to sell the land and half story missing Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 4860Mar 15, 2013 10:13 pm Scared1stTimeBuilder Re the Brickmakers drive, when we enquired about building close to the drive we were informed that it will be open to local traffic only, no trucks. I do understand what you are saying but at the same time things are told just to sell the land and half story missing I agree. When I first enquired about land right there in front of Brickmakers drive, my sister brought up that its great you get a tree line view but the traffic would be atrocious. The sales person disagreed and said that there would hardly be any traffic going through... After much research I decided to build away from that road.... But that's based on speaking to locals about the use of that road and the first thing they advised was that they would use it as a cut thru in a heart beat... But now the trucks....
