This will increase awareness in the area Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1922May 23, 2011 5:54 pm We do have to be a bit careful with this - we can arrange petitions, flyers etc, but we won't be able to attach signs or banners onto any property of GF - they'll take it down in a flash! Now, I don't think they could stop us putting up signs on our front lawns or banners from the balconies of our houses Built a Clarendon 'Balmain' 2008 Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1923May 23, 2011 6:02 pm Hi Maxie You got a point there. Never thought of putting up banners inside your compound. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1924May 23, 2011 6:36 pm I'm not certain of procedures involved in a DA like this Recycling Facility but I think if it can be stopped at the local council level the people that should be included in our show are the Liverpool Council Councillors for the South Ward, which includes Moorebank. I have attached a link that includes the councillors contact details and a ward map. This area is near to M5 toll directly opposite the proposed recycling plant. I will work towards the Hammondville area opposite new Brighton Golf Club tomorrow onwards. My Hammondville target drop is 500 numbers. Hope there will an impact from this area. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1926May 24, 2011 9:58 am Hi slootriple8 Im unable to get banner size posters just A4/A3 flyers sorry about that. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1927May 24, 2011 11:12 am Hi Guys On another note this may be a stupid question but who pays for electrial costs during the build process. Was told by EB to set up an account with I*******l energy, when better half called she was told by the operator that we were the first in fairway close to be connected yet i know that there are several houses going up in the street, all seems a bit odd might have to go through the contract tonight thanks Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1928May 24, 2011 2:05 pm EB get you to get a reference number for the connection, then they go ahead and deal with Integral to connect the house to the grid. You will get the electricity bills for while the house is in construction though (ours was like $70 or so during our build) Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1929May 24, 2011 2:14 pm Have been reading the GF forum for some months now and have decided to join. Have received the flyer in the letter box - thank you we will be at the meeting next week. Have also sent emails out to our local members, Minister for Planning, the Premier, and our local councillors. Am waiting a reply from all. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1930May 24, 2011 2:21 pm RichandKat Hi Guys On another note this may be a stupid question but who pays for electrial costs during the build process. Are you building with EB ? Allready had a water bill $36, electricity will be next, and land rates !!, does anyone know when we get that bill Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1931May 24, 2011 3:35 pm Hi guys, Does anyone have any news on the 3A release rego? Thanks Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1932May 24, 2011 3:43 pm andersonptf Hi guys, Does anyone have any news on the 3A release rego? Thanks andersonptf - Received an email from our M3tricon CSO that our land was registered and that they would soon be doing the contour and borehole report which would take 5-10 days after which they would be siteing the house on the block and preparing the council submission. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1934May 24, 2011 4:11 pm official rego of 3A was today. Or so I have been told I went outside once. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1935May 24, 2011 4:37 pm It depends which builder you go with. I know with M we didn't connect electricity until handover and they used their own generators to fund electricity during the build. Other builders like EBH make you connect first up and you pay for your electricity during the build. We rang and registered for the meeting and I was asked by The receptionist why I objected to the proposal - I laughed and said I doubt anyone would like to live next to a concrete recycling plant!!!! I hope there is a big turn out next Tuesday - let's show these people we mean business!!! I am strongly against this project as it is so close to to the Georges Fair residential area where more than 1000 houses will be built here. We will already be badly affected indirectly by the heavy traffic along Brickmakers Drive making the way to the Moorebank Intermodal project. We cannot and will not tolerate 326 heavy vehicles per day equating to 500,000 tones per annum of product produced in the middle of a large urban renewal project that will create noise and pollution in this area on top of that expected to come from Moorebank Intermodal project. May I urge all to reconsider this project and to ask government ministers and Liverpool councillors to reject this application. Thank you all Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1937May 24, 2011 5:39 pm mecha-wombat official rego of 3A was today. Or so I have been told Hey MW, Who told you that? J*****? I just called council to get a DP number for our builder and they said it hadn't been registered yet. I feel like our builder are stalling us until its registered We did our letter box drop on Monday about 150 homes in the street adjacent to GF, we asked to put one in the independent servo but he "didn't want to get involved in anything political". Did our kitchen appointment on Monday and were pleasantly surprised by the final amount. We got everything we wanted and some Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1938May 24, 2011 5:47 pm Mrs MW checked on the Dept of Lands Website today Also Dave, the Roofers have almost finished your roof but got rained off I went outside once. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1939May 24, 2011 6:59 pm Yeah thought so. Went after work. The roof tiles were all done. Most capping were done. Should have finished easily then noticed a big fresh batch of cement thrown out with the rubbish so assume they were planning on finishing but couldn't due to the rain....Pitty... On the electricity topic. Funny this topic was mentioned as we just received our connection bill for $412. I have questioned this with C but have no response yet. I imagine it is in the contract. I dont have a problem with paying for connection but hope not to pay tradies power bills during construction. For all your joinery needs, we custom build kitchens, office, wardrobes, garage, laundry fit outs plus TV units, pantry, linen and everything in between. PM me for more info or details.
