Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1841May 18, 2011 7:46 am What about we start showing our displeasure leading to the meeting ... and continue to do it beyond the meeting .... What about we do some protest ... in painted big cloth banners and at the same time publicising it to the others who are not aware of it? Also to potential buyers turning away and then also getting J..... to do something? I will make my first $100 contribution. I was going to call J....e as well today to find out if she knows about this (i am very sure she would have). We need to get everyone we can to go to the meeting. I will also see how close it is to Milperra my mum and dad live there so i am going to get them to come. This is really disappointing. Don't these companies care that they could destory peoples dreams not to mention our house prices! Lets just hope it does not go ahead! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1844May 18, 2011 9:21 am It is fairly close to Milperra - the Riverlands Golf Course is just over the river from the proposed site - but a LOT closer to us Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1845May 18, 2011 10:20 am The Moorebank precinct is now different compared to same time last year. There are approx. 1000 residents once all lots are sold and built on GF. More also on other areas. And we have also the noise coming from the Planned Moorebank Intermodal Terminal project and the side effects from this project. It is very likely that this terminal project will be implemented. Imagine the extra traffic especially the trucks travelling on Brickmakers Drive from Governor Macquarie Drive to Nuwarra Road then making the way to the terminal? Imagine what if the extra volume of traffic coming from Bankstown Airport (extra freight will come into the airport) if the airport has been given the greenlight to operate 24/7? If the recycling facility were to go ahead, imagine the extra trucks on Brickmakers Drive? WE HAVE TO STOP THIS RECYCLING FACILITY! WE HAVE TO TAKE ACTION NOW! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1846May 18, 2011 11:33 am I had a holding deposit on a block on Bradbury St in the Dream Release nearly 18months ago and stumbled across some information that hinted that Brickmakers Drive would become the main road through Moorebank. When I questioned J on this, she told me that wouldn't be the case and not to worry. After some further reading I asked for my deposit back. My mind went into overdrive as I felt J probably did know something. I hope J is more supportive of GF residents and proposed residents nowadays and makes sure you guys get the chance to be heard on a larger scale. While on a different type of development, the residents of Telopea are banding together and making a great fuss and all the newspapers are supporting their case. They've already managed to have some development proposals overturned. So if you make enough fuss and let every newspaper in your area know about your concerns, you have the best chance of making a difference. I wish you the best of luck. Land at Chermside At tender stage Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1847May 18, 2011 11:41 am I propose that all of us meet up prior to this 31st May to decide on an agreed course of action to take including a petition and set up a "Say No to Proposed Morrebank Recycling Site" committee. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1848May 18, 2011 12:00 pm Sorry guys but I don't think the sales office will be giving too much help with the fight. They are not going to do or support anything that could severely impact their sales of land. They may be sympathetic but they are developers. They sell, they make their money, they pack up and go. I went thru a similar scenario at Wattle Grove when they wanted to plonked the airport at Holsworthy. No support from Delfin the developer. It's all up to the residents in this fight I fear Built a Clarendon 'Balmain' 2008 Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1849May 18, 2011 12:26 pm I agree with Maxie. Developers have their own interests to maximise sales and profit. We, residents, have our own interests too. Who can fight and protect our interest? Really, no one else but amongst those who have already financially committed to building houses like me. We need to voice up and collectively write to local MPs and to Barry O'Farrell! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1850May 18, 2011 2:47 pm Hey guys, Do you know there is already a plant there? J advise me today when i spoke to her. She mention that they are only going to move the plant a few meters?? I am not sure if i heard correctly. If you look at the above map it states the trucks will not use brickmaker drive (look at the purple and green arrows). J mention that she is looking into in and will get back to us?? I agree this needs to be stopped. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1851May 18, 2011 4:37 pm Hi all, I haven't been active in the group, but if you are going to make some serious noise against this nonsense proposal you can count on me. I'm building at "Palmers Terrace", stage 3A. Regards Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1852May 18, 2011 4:55 pm Andersonptf what is your lot number on "Palmer tce" Because all the street signs on Palmer tce actually are posted as the parkway.(I am 3121) As for these development proposals I will read them a little more before making comment. But the intermodial proposal is most likely to benefit us. Brickmakers drive is going to have weight restrictions (confirmed with J*****) therefore b-doubles will not be able use it. The intermodial will actually move trucks westerly from us as they will be collecting from Moorebank ave and then turning on to M5 to go on the M7 orbital or south and on to the recently upgraded picton rd or Hume This means less trucks on the roads from the east ( City ) I went outside once. The graphics were alright, but the gameplay sucked! Settlement:22nd June Slab:27th August Frame:16th Sept Bricked:21st Oct Roof:24th Nov Linings HANDOVER23rd March! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1853May 18, 2011 5:34 pm Ok so after reading through this proposal. I am not a fan, and I think that if this is a competing recycler to Benedict they would have something to say as well considering they are developing their site to make the marina and using the access they would have for the marina for all these trucks would be a massive deal breaker. However if it is Benedict then it would be subject to approval of the marina but it then does not make sense because Benedict are going to develop the northern part of their site for medium density housing and attracting people to a site with 312 heavy vehicle movements does not make sense. Regardless access to brick makers from nuwarra is going to be a nightmare if all this comes to fruition I went outside once. The graphics were alright, but the gameplay sucked! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1854May 18, 2011 5:39 pm MnM Hey guys, Do you know there is already a plant there? J advise me today when i spoke to her. She mention that they are only going to move the plant a few meters?? I am not sure if i heard correctly. If you look at the above map it states the trucks will not use brickmaker drive (look at the purple and green arrows). J mention that she is looking into in and will get back to us?? I agree this needs to be stopped. There is something similar there atm (they crush concrete and maybe dredge sand can't remember exactly but it is all in the marina DA) It is owned by Benedict Industries who are redeveloping the land into the Marina. They have a DA in council now for a similar recycling facility in Chipping Norton. I wouldn't think they would be too happy about this being so close too the Marina and housing they have planned. Don't take to much stock with what J says, she is a sales person and there to sell dirt thats all. I do remember being given the brush off when asking her about Brickmakers Drive originally. Has anyone heard anything else about land rego for 3A??? Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1855May 18, 2011 6:17 pm Hi mecha, I'm the block 3141, almost in front of yours. Regards Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1856May 18, 2011 7:07 pm MnM Hey guys, Do you know there is already a plant there? J advise me today when i spoke to her. She mention that they are only going to move the plant a few meters?? I am not sure if i heard correctly. The plant that is already there is the Benedict facility that is going to be the marina (subject to council approval) - any plant that is there is up near where the plan indicates the trucks will enter & leave from. Where this new plant is proposed is pretty much due east of biddle street south to the end of GF itself. If this proposal goes ahead, trucks will pretty much be coming and going all day long alongside the marina precinct (if it gets the go ahead as well) Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1857May 18, 2011 7:32 pm Hey Guys I think it would be a good idea to notify the local papers like L....der and Ch......pion to run a spread informing the whole area before the meeting to hopefully drum up some more interest. I will call this week but thought it might be an idea if a few more also called. I was also thinking of printing off some leaflets to drop off in the current GF residences notifying about the situation and also the meeting. It seems that the proposal was somehow not delivered to all that are living in the area so I thought I would make sure nobody is missed.
