Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2521Aug 05, 2011 10:15 pm I have to say I actually enjoyed the building process. I love that sort of stuff. As long as things move and the house doesn't just sit there for too long between trades. We're in the final stages now. Next week - Internal clean and also termguard installed. The following week - Walk thru, Defects repaired, Bamboo floor. Then final walk thru. The week after that - Carpet and handover That should round up our 24 week build. 6 weeks ahead of schedule. For all your joinery needs, we custom build kitchens, office, wardrobes, garage, laundry fit outs plus TV units, pantry, linen and everything in between. PM me for more info or details. We also do the drive thru nearly everyday too, it's great living so close now. We are feeling a little frustrated ATM waiting for council approval (apparently they are running a bit behind ) How long do the tradies shut down for over chrissy? Sadly it looks like we will be waiting that time out in the rental. That's such great news infocus, I think you're right - the building part is so much more fun than the waiting part! Much like you and MW and lots of others on here we have become obsessed, rain, hail or shine, looking for the most minor of changes. We have now started moving along quite quickly and the frames and windows should all be in by the end of today! Bricks delivered on Tuesday (even after all that hoo ha about not being able to get our Axinite's, guess what...they're now available. All good in the end I suppose). So brickies start next week and, well, it just keeps going. We're so excited. Hubby had a laugh the other day when our back neighbour (apparently a bit annoyed) came and asked us to move our frames from behind our temp fence as they are on her land and she's having her pool dug within the week. He waited til she finished then asked her to check her plans again because her land is about another 10 metres behind our temporary fence, and our land was actually shortened by about 3 metres so they could sell her lot. It all ended up OK in the end but it has been one of our most interesting weeks! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2539Aug 07, 2011 8:36 am The sales office was passed in at $1.4 million. They were only 2 active bidders but a few more lurkers who looked like they were going to hang around afterwards in case the highest bidder wasn't prepared to up his price. I really wanted it to sell so we could maybe have found out what the plan for the future is.... Built a Clarendon 'Balmain' 2008 Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 2540Aug 07, 2011 3:45 pm Hmmmm I know I if I brought it I would turn it in to a boutique hotel its got parking, landscaped, and it has 10 rooms. Pool/spa garden area would be built on the block connected to Nuwarra. Most likely it will be brought by a delevoper and 10000 units put on the block I went outside once.
