Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3736Apr 28, 2012 9:29 am mecha-wombat yeah council said we had to wait til the street had been developed further ie extended! we got ours while we were in council... and it happens to be the same number of our current house how lucky is that! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3737Apr 28, 2012 1:17 pm question about progress payment from builders: Should I pay on time, everytime the builders issue an invoice ? or do I need to check if they complete the stages first ? at the moment, they issued invoice for slab completion + frame completiong which is due 3rd May. the next stage will be invoice for brickwork completion, how soon they will issue this invoice ? cheers Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 3738Apr 28, 2012 4:09 pm infocus Thats exactly what I'm talking about. NO CONSISTANCY!! Fair enough if you have to add/upgrade something to comply with regulations but no 2 houses are the same. The same rule could chop and change 10 times in one street. We are in our house now and have been for 8 months but I do feel for those who are frustrated with what is being asked of them but not others. Consistency..... As if but you are right it sucks. We had to get a bigger rainwater tank, add the side walls. but then other corner blocks did not do the right thing, which really sucks. BASIX requirements had recently changed too so newer houses "should" be better. @ Pawer Many of us would be visiting the site daily so you would see the progress. We organised payment ASAP from invoice. Some were issued a day or two before completion of the items and we would wait until it was done (read: one to two days)But we never had issue with the completions. As for when you will expect the bill for brickwork completion it will be when the brickwork is complete give or take a few days I went outside once.
