Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1903May 20, 2011 8:14 pm The petition is a great idea and I think we should all be very vocal to council to stop this going ahead. Dreamgirl - if it helps, I would still buy here regardless, we really do love living here - the people, the parks..... it's great. So I would say BUY!!! And just cross your fingers they don't go ahead with this facility. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1904May 20, 2011 8:27 pm Yep Buy here. this is just the small online community @ homeone and we not all of us are living there ATM but still feel a great sense of community as shown when we took over the park. FIRST THE PARK.......THEN THE WORLD!!!! Anyway I would still buy @ GF. We are 10 weeks into our build and wouldn't look back, not for any dirty varment who wants to out build the locals. We are happy with our choice whether we knew about this proposal or not. We, like you Dreamgirl, did not have any other thoughts about living anywhere else. For all your joinery needs, we custom build kitchens, office, wardrobes, garage, laundry fit outs plus TV units, pantry, linen and everything in between. PM me for more info or details. Better watch out ... Better not cry! We are landing on GF! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1908May 20, 2011 10:41 pm GOOD NEWS!!! I emailed Benedict Industries Pty Ltd (who have submitted their development application to build the Georges Cove Marina) and we appear to have their support. They are against this proposal as well (it is great to have a corporation on our side) and they sent me a detailed email. I hope they don't mind if I copy it here: ------------------------------------------------- Thank you for your email of todays date concerning Moorebank Recyclers(in reality Concrete RecyclersP/L) application for its land adjoining us at Moorebank. We have been aware of their intentions for some time and have watched with interest. Between our residential lands at Moorebank and Georges Fair there will be some 1100 homes as well as a small local business centre and, hopefully, our proposed Marina and Recreation lands scheme which, incidentally, Concrete Recyclers and Flower Power have inexplicably objected to. We obviously feel that what we are proposing for our lands will be well received and patronised by the local community. The Concrete Recyclers proposal actually proposes some 326 Heavy vehicles per day(their numbers) equating to 500,000 Tonnes per annum of product produced in the middle of the large urban renewal project of restoring the old Clark Brick(Boral) pit and our sand quarry ( which will close shortly) pending the marina approval. Our Sand reserves are nearly depleted. Concrete Recyclers currently have no legal access to permit this activity but are pressuring Council to make this access available through Environmental land donated to them by Boral in Georges Fair so as to permit them to lodge this application with the State government. Their original application is 5 years old and under the very recent changes brought in by the O'Farrell Govt. our advice is that they will not be considered further without a fresh application which would go to a JRRP or PAC, both of which have Council Reps on it. We obviously strongly believe that their proposal is totally incompatible with the developments in the area and believe that they should locate such activities in industrial precincts like Chipping Norton as we have. We have invested some $35M doing just that in anticipation of the gentrification of Moorebank and we are keen to be allowed to build our vision there. Residents such as yourself should speak to Council and more importantly, the Minister for Planning,Mr. Brad Hazzard, to express your views and any concerns that you may have concerning Moorebank Recyclers' proposal or indeed my Company's Marina Proposal if you so wish. I can be contacted anytime on 0407 282 444. Yours Faithfully EA Dupere Managing Director ------------------------------------------------- In case you missed it, we now know who is proposing this development. The name of the company is CONCRETE RECYCLERS PTY LTD. Their website is http://www.concreterecyclers.com.au/ and their email address is: Brent Lawson Managing Director brent@concreterecyclers.com.au I know we have the upcoming meeting, however, we might shock CONCRETE RECYCLERS PTY LTD if we start emailing them AS WELL RIGHT NOW! They might be quite surprised that we have figured out it is them. I am going to email them right now, outlining my opposition to the project. The more letters/emails we send, the better! Please continue to communicate on this issue. I was speaking with a lady a work today who also lives in Moorebank and she successfully overturned a similar development a few years ago through people power. It is important that we: 1. RSVP for and attend the meeting 2. letterbox drop (as arranged through the emails) 3. start to email CONCRETE RECYCLERS PTY LTD (brent@concreterecyclers.com.au) 4. contact our local media 5. contact our local politicians (state and federal) 6. contact the Minister for Planning (information@planning.nsw.gov.au AND office@hazzard.minister.nsw.gov.au AND brad.hazzard@parliament.nsw.gov.au) Ministers are required to officially respond to these letters and emails, so let's get writing! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1910May 20, 2011 11:24 pm Hi everyone! This is really excellent news that Benedict Industries is behind our fight just as much as Benedict Industries is also wanting our support to get their marina proposal approved. It is going to be a long battle with this Concrete Recyclers. We should all meet up to form a working committee. Should we all meet up one evening? I agree with MnM2 Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1911May 21, 2011 10:07 am I called the Liverpool Leader. They said they need a front person to interview and photograph for the article. Someone who is/will be effected first hand. It would have to be done before next Tuesday to print before the meeting. I do not have the time between now and then so if anyone is keen let me know and I will give you the contact details. We could still do an article even if it doesn't make it before the meeting. It couldn't hurt. For all your joinery needs, we custom build kitchens, office, wardrobes, garage, laundry fit outs plus TV units, pantry, linen and everything in between. PM me for more info or details. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1912May 21, 2011 6:12 pm hi guys I'm FiFi's better half, Ian. I like everyone else am vehemently opposed to this development. If there is anything that i can do to help to stop this development and assist you guys please don't hesitate to ask. Don't laugh but "together united we will defeat this proposal" Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1913May 21, 2011 8:35 pm Just to let everyone know, today we letterbox dropped the western side of Milperra near the golf course and river. We got some positive responses from local residents and have placed our flyers in the local shopping village. All up, we got to about 275 homes. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1917May 22, 2011 9:54 am Hi new to forum we are building in fairway close No. 18. This new development proposal is no good for the area and we need to take action, if the petition is to be bought up in parliment there has to be 500 signatures. If a petitcion with 500 or more signatures is produced it must be put before pariliment. I have just found out about this development and will be talking with Craig Kelly personaly about it. There is also a meeting in chipping norton this week for residents to voice there opinion about liverpool council at childs park on tuesday 24th at 7pm till 9pm. The meeting is with Tony Hadchiti the local member, could someone please send him a copy of the flyer to cllrhadchiti@liverpool.nsw.gov.au Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1918May 22, 2011 9:10 pm What a joke. I can't believe a facility such as this would be considered for the area. These types of facilities inadvertantly crush asbestos laden demolition material. Hands up who wants to have breakfast on their alfresco with a side serving of asbestos dust. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1919May 22, 2011 10:45 pm Hi All, I sent off letters of objection to all concerned just now, and I'll RSVP to the meeting tomorrow. I think the petition is a great idea. Can we arrange a time to meet somewhere (maybe the park at GF) so we can all sign it too??? Fifi Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 1920May 23, 2011 9:50 am hi guys sorry haven't been on in a while, pretty p***** off about this, have sent an email and we will be at the meeting.
