We are concerned about renaming the area, dont get me wrong it would be nice but as a community we should be concentrating on bigger problems, - Moorebank Freight Terminal= Pollution - Brighton Lakes development which at the moment only has one access point via Georges Fair= increased traffic on roads which were never designed to accommodate heavy traffic - Moorebank Materials Recycling Facility= Pollution Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5928Feb 05, 2015 12:54 pm Scared1stTimeBuilder Really??? But it does not mean that we should not take advantage of an opportunity.. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5929Feb 05, 2015 12:57 pm Hi all, Sorry to change topic - I was just wondering if people could provide me with contact details for fencing and driveways? Please feel free to PM me if easier. Thanks Kate Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5930Feb 05, 2015 1:17 pm Atri, I may not be aware so please enlighten me on how ''we'' are dealing with it? Moorebank Materials Recycling Facility- yes, I agree that there is/was a group organised to tackle that issue and I went to a few meetings, only around 30 residents attended....bearing in mind we live in an estate with around 1000 dwellings so that is around 3%. I fail to understand how the forum gets so many comments/feedback re name change but when it was suggested to put our case forward re the new development and concerns re access point/s to Brighton Lakes development....well pretty much zero response/support of that matter. I know that my comments above may cause an outrage by some on this forum BUT........... I am sorry to say, name change will not add extra value to your house. Increased traffic, pollution, noise, congested roads (doesn't matter throughout the estate or just around the estate, in the area) and lack of amenities will slow down capital gain on your property. At the moment we are awaiting a response from the planning committee to see if the recycling plant goes ahead. As for saying that only 3% of residents turned up to the meeting is incorrect as at most 50% of land had been sold at best. From memory the only way I found about it was through this forum as we half way through our build. As for Brighton lakes development the photo on the proposed name change area there seems to be another entrance to nuwarra rd in that diagram so hopefully this is the case. For the name change this we be are only opportunity to do so and to say we don't care about the other issues isn't fair, as people like infocus were heavily involved in planning and getting flyers out to the community meetings that were held when the proposal for the recycling plant first brought forward. Re new development and access point- I rang the council and it was confirmed that the only access to the new estate is via Georges Fair. Feel free to view supporting paperwork on Liverpool Council website. If you read my comments above I did mention that there was a movement on Moorebank Materials Recycling Facility and I am well aware that now we are playing waiting game. The meeting I went to was held in the park probably about one year ago, maybe a bit longer, and I can reassure you that most lots within Georges Fair were sold. My point is that- while some people care and do everything to stand up as a community, numbers show that majority choose to do nothing. I would NOT recommend Better Pools and Spas, we paid a deposit in June last year, and only had our first swim yesterday, and there are still problems. We used Terry Elliot Pools and Spas. He is an owner builder. Terry is your point of contact from quote to handover. No sales rep, No Bulls%#t. My neighbour built with him, was recommended to us so we went with Terry. He only builds concrete pools, no fibreglass. We built a 7 x 3m quartzon finish. Took about 8 or so weeks including several rain delays. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a concrete pool. http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z152/soulmissionshots/IMG_0465_zpsewmupjes.jpg For all your joinery needs, we custom build kitchens, office, wardrobes, garage, laundry fit outs plus TV units, pantry, linen and everything in between. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5937Feb 12, 2015 2:59 pm Dear Honourable MP’s, I am writing to you today regarding the Proposed Moorebank Recycling Plant which is currently sitting with the Planning and Assessment Commission. I have written before as many people have and I will continue to write until this ludicrous proposal goes away. What makes me and the Georges Fair (Moorebank) residents nervous is the fact that the (PAC) is determining whether to approve this project or not. In my opinion, a commission which is a waste of Tax payers money who do the job of what Local Councils have been doing since the beginning of time. By the looks of things this so called commission approves 95% of proposals, so what does this tell the Aussie Battler? If you have money you can get anything approved. Moving on from this, the biggest issue I have is with a gentleman named Brent (if he can be called a gentleman) the owner of this Concrete Recycling Plant who only gives a damn about how he can make his pockets even deeper than they already are. Building a Plant a mere 150m away from residential homes is something you hear about in 3rd world countries, NOT in Australia. Why doesn’t Old Mate Brent build a Plant in his street where he has a multi million dollar home in the North Shore? I think we all know the answer to that one – he wouldn’t stand for it. So why is it good enough for Moorebank? Is it because we are from the West? Are we the scum of Sydney? Is it because the residents of South West Sydney don’t have the money to match this so called human being? I Urge common sense prevail here, I urge any decent politician to knock this on the head – all residents of Georges Fair are Tax Payers, we are all Australians, we have a say, we must be heard. After 30 years (the life of my mortgage) is complete I will have paid 1.4 million dollars for a 310 sqm Block, I think I have paid for my right to speak as have other residents. Issues with Proposed Moorebank Recycling Plant: Concrete and Building Material CRUSHING: • OBVIOUS ALREADY STATED – 150m away from residential homes. • Brickmakers drivers has a Tonne limit – No trucks are allowed through. • Health Hazards – Dust, chemicals in building materials, NO GUARANTEE that ASBESTOS won’t enter the site. • Noise Pollution – • Congested Traffic – I urge the PAC to visit Brickmakers Drive and Nuwarra Road at 7.15am every morning and 5pm every afternoon – IT’S A CAR PARK. • Add 350 Trucks a day coming and going? The suburb will become a circus I am not against recycling, recycling is important for our kids future, but there is a place for everything. 10 years ago, this plant would have been perfect in that position – fast forward 10 years we now have thousands of Dwellings, it is a community, it is a Suburb. Human beings live there not animals. It’s a young vibrant community, parks for the thousands of Kids who reside there. 350 Trucks per day + Kids = A Tragedy waiting to happen. We will fight this and fight this to the end, I think it’s time our government started working for the Aussies Battlers who pay their taxes – and listen. Im sick of Australia working for every other country, worrying about other countries problems, be it people or debts. Its time For Australia to start worrying about its own!!!! Ps: BRENT – it will be blood on your hands if anything happens to our children of Georges Fair. - You wouldn’t understand anything I have written, because Money is the only Language you know, I hope your money cuddles you and tells you love stories at night, because let me tell you, What the residents of Georges Fair share you will never have – you are the Poorest man I know!!! Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5939Feb 13, 2015 6:51 am i Sure did, Local MP's, Federal MP'S, The Media, "Brent" (the guy wanting to build the Plant), even Julia Gillard got a mention - even though she was useless....
