We have received one which is over $300 and we aren't even living there and electrical is not even hooked up in the house. Please help! Hi Columbo10, We built with Wisdom, and the electricity was connected on our behalf with AGL by them. We also received a bill from AGL during the build. This is an estimated bill only. If you flip the bill over, you will see on the back where it says this. Ours was about the same. You have two options. 1. Ring AGL and get someone out to read the meter (we read it and called them with the reading and they re-issued the bill - was about $90 from memory). 2. Pay the estimated bill, and put your account in credit - when you move in and they come out to read the meter, they will reconcile it, leaving you in credit. You are responsible for electricity builders use during the build - though it is not often very much. Good luck with the build! Some builders will pay the usage portion of the bill. Wisdom paid for our usage, we just had to pay for the service fees. Currently we have mobile broadband but its not enough now, and I am very disappointed to discover there are no plans for NBN in the older releases!! Thanks Fi Hi Fifi, I'm one of the "oldies" and have had ADSL2+ broadband for over a year now. When we moved in, in 2011, I applied to have a telephone line installed for broadband. When the Telstra tech arrived to install my phone line he discovered that the main underground street cabling was not even laid. Typical Telstra! 3 months later, the street cabling was installed and I had my phone line installed only to discover that I could only get ADSL1. Telstra decided to upgrade the Telephone Exchange for ADSL2+ and has been happy days since (as I jealousy look over to the newbies who have NBN ). Just to give you an idea, I'm with iiNet on a 150GB plan for $90/month (includes phone line rental). Others have asked on the forum about Internet speeds. I logged onto the OZ Broadband Speed Test website and these are the speeds I'm getting. Mirror: iiNet Data: 17 MB Test Time: 10 secs Your line speed is 14.16 Mbps (14159 kbps). Your download speed is 1.73 MB/s (1770 KB/s). Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5654Feb 09, 2014 11:10 am So apparently I'm having a garage sale on plants that have been put in the ground weeks ago, free of charge. Some a**holes dug up 6 of my Murraya hedge plants at the front of my home last night, you know, because they're SSOOOO expensive to get yourself ($5 each). If anyone has any neighbours that have recently planted 6 of them this weekend, please let me know. Ta. I just had two hedges stolen from the side of my house. I'm guessing the culprits didn't realise that the council actually didn't pay for those hedges to be planted in... Oh and we also had a few of our car mats stolen from our front yard when while we were cleaning our car. Had to quickly step inside and came back out, and they were gone. Also, has anyone else noticed that the security patrol haven't driven around in a while? I remember last year for the first half they were quite frequent...
