They have done many a test for ground movement & there are different levels across GF. When you go to build they do soil tests but the main ground movement reports are supplied with your land contract. Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5387Sep 23, 2013 10:58 pm Does anyone know anything about ducted vacuums or know someone that installs it. How much is it, did you have it installed during or after building etc? Council rejected my neighbor's timber sleeps, what can I do? 5388Sep 23, 2013 11:10 pm My neighbor dig the natural ground level and installed timber sleeps rather than brick retaining wall, now Liverpool city council asked him to remove the timber sleeps and redo the retaining wall. My neighbor is still arguing with council about it but seems little chance. The issue is, I'm going to do the landscape from tomorrow and fill the soil in on my pathway, if they remove the timber sleepers, my soil will fall. My landscaper suggested me to put two extra sleeper on my side. But he also mentioned ' The thing is that its just 1 sleeper high so anything under that may still fall if they dig.' I have no idea about this as my neighbor is still arguing and my landscaper has tight schedule as well. Also should I share the cost on the extra sleeps with my neighbor since they dig the ground? Any idea will be much appreciate. Thanks Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5389Sep 24, 2013 6:44 am mecha-wombat I am on Palmer Terrace so up a little higher One of our options at the moment is to purchase an existing property over near Bradbury. It had no obvious faults to my untrained eye (other than the price ). If we get serious about it we will definitely be paying for a thorough inspection. We have had so many issues that we raised with our potential bulders just dismissed out of hand that we have decided to take a second look at purchasing something ready made. We are still in the stage of making a definite decision on build or buy so we are still attempting to research people's recent experiences in specific areas. GF seems to be ticking most of the boxes so far. Now we just need to make a decision on which way to go. zRoYz Maybebuilding as far as cracking goes your builder deals with that reason for the high slab classification at GF. Looks like there may be nothing significant happening in the area as it relates to cracking etc (at least so far anyway). So I will make the assumption that the builders/developers got it right when it came to their classifications (as you mentioned above). I'm not sure how bad it was. Just type in "crack" in the box at the bottom of the forum to search crack issue and the postings will appear. i'm buillding at the lowest part of GF and keeping fingers crossed nothing like this will happen. btw, the highest lots are at aurora release, Investa still has the largest lot (about 1000 m2) right on top of the aurora release unsold - lot 5107, 5117, check it out. the latest release playfield has smallest lot at about $330-340k now. cheers Re: Anyone building at George's Fair, Moorebank? 5392Sep 24, 2013 5:24 pm HoudaMan Does anyone have any images of the old boral yard? Nope, mine was initially supposed to be masonry but then when the council plans came back, Wisdom changed it to timber sleepers as per the council. I think it just depends on how high your retaining wall should be.
