Really?? But it wont be literally covering the holes, it will be just putting timber over it. So the hole isnt filled or anything... but just not visible. Re: Can timber decking cover weep holes? 4Oct 20, 2009 5:25 pm S&P….the reasons for the weep holes are to let LIGHT in so you don’t attract white ants…… IF……you can figure a way to let the light into the weep holes then go for it. But they are there for a reason, try not to cover them in darkness. I've seen a lot of houses with the decking at a level that would be above the weep holes. Sort of the same floor level as inside the house. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Our concreter said they can go 1/3 of the way up them so that's what we have on our porch. Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: Can timber decking cover weep holes? 7Oct 20, 2009 5:54 pm I’m bowing out now….take it from someone who has had white ants, I am very cautious about those weep holes now. My advice, "get some" from your pest guy before you do it. Re: Can timber decking cover weep holes? 9Oct 20, 2009 7:18 pm Hmm now Im curious.... I too have seen display homes with the decking flush with the doorway. That has to be covering the holes? Our concretor told us that timber decking can cover them, but concrete cannot. So he poured concrete up to the hole only. Only 2 weep holes on the side of the garage near the front door have concrete over them, it was unavoidable as we had exposed agg concrete poured over the top of the existing slab. The rest of it will have the concrete under the weep holes. Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new.
