Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 19, 2009 6:13 pm Hi I've had a read of some great threads re planning Electrics and network points etc. and have a simple question or two. In the absence of not knowing at this early stage where our furniture will go, whether we will have wireless or wired ADSL, plans for the kids rooms, heating what can we reasonably do in advance that provides us with some flexibility to add post build? Thinking * gas point in Alfresco * Gas Outlets in Lounge, Family and Hall (if we go space heaters) * Conduits/draws in multiple locations where phone/network is most likely to go. I assume in this case that when we do decide we cut a hole, draw cable and pop on a face plate etc. So we won't put in the actual network cabling, just have the option. Maybe 2 ports (phone and network) in 2 locations in each room to allow for furniture moves * I assume for the above the main point is to determine where all the cable will go back to * Power halfway up the wall in case we decide to wall mount TV * Power high up in study for network equipment * TV points - do I also need to be specific and ask the TV points to * Power in the ceiling e.g. Alfresco * Alarm - never had before, what could easily add that would make it easier later? I assume the guy who does our Telephone points would do all the cabling stuff?
