I think we have done quite well haha Re: House Build with PJ Burns QLD [tiling DONE - new pics] 30Nov 12, 2009 5:19 pm well.. alot has happened lately! Tiler has finished, water tank is in, wardrobe shelves are in, air con is in, rubbish and toilet removed, site scraped, gas, electrical and plumbing all finished. Looks like will be good to go in about a week. That will make it about a 9-10 week build... and im thrilled with the results. Very good quality fittings etc for what we paid. Proper recessed downlights throughout (no china mans hats!), brushed aluminium fans, tiled shower recess (not the plastic shower bases). I sold the builder's Blanco one on eBay I love your driveway too, we have a very similar one Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark, and professionals built the Titanic." Re: House Build with PJ Burns QLD [tiling DONE - new pics] 33Nov 23, 2009 10:07 am Well what a drama ! Friday rolled around and I had hopes of getting in to the house.. but in the back of my mind thought "nup - no way its going to happen". As of Friday morning the valuer hadn't been. Calls to the bank achieved nothing. But I still thought Id try anyway! So I kept calling and calling to check with the bank if the valuer had been. . We did the final walkthrough /PCI at 8am Friday.. there were only a couple of minor things. Scratches in one of the glass sliding doors - they will try to polish them out first.. if no joy they will have to replace the glass. Other than that, there was 2 door handles the wrong way around so they fixed that on the spot, and a loose toilet roll holder. So we came out of that pretty good I thought ! at 1pm I got a random phone call from the valuer to say he'd checked out the house and all he needed was a copy of the certifiers report to say that there was nothing structurally wrong with the house and it wasn't missing walls etc. So no probs I thought ! Called the builder... they had the certificate... but it hadnt been signed yet. The guy who needed to sign it was 2.5 hours away. Game over I thought! But not so. Sarah Burns from PJ Burns (bit of a company family this one lol) was my saviour. She must have sweet talked this guy into changing his whole schedule so he could come in and sign a piece of paper for us. finally got the copy of the report at 2:30pm. Kept calling the valuer guy to confirm he had it and that he was going to pass it on to the bank asap.. but he stopped answering his phone - b4stard! So it was back to calling the bank again! I made my last call at 4pm.. they hadnt received the valuers report and the guy told me it would take a few hours for it all to update in their system. Game over.. I thought. 4:35pm...Karen from CBA Mortgage Services in Brisbane called me. Yes wow - a bank employee actually working on a Friday arvo! She asked if I was ok with a deposit into builders account. Hell no ! I wanted my cheque. She said it would take 15mins to organise.. I told her to go ahead. And luckily my OH was still in mobile phone range and I called him and told him to head to bank. He walked out of the bank with the cheque at 4:59pm on a Friday arvo. what a mammoth mission ! Must have made about 10 million phone calls that day!! We got a lovely big hamper from the builder at handover..full of bath towels, champagne and yummy stuff. Sorry for ******* phone pics.. camera is packed ! I have a microwave but cant find the microwave plate. Cant find toaster. We flooded the laundry with water because we didnt check the outlet hose was in the sink from the washing machine - all fun and games. But above all we are super super super happy. We absolutely love our builders and would happily recommend anyone on the Sunshine Coast to go with PJ Burns. Doggies enjoying air con and tiles on a 35deg day ! Re: House Build with PJ Burns QLD [FINISHED and moved in!! ] 38Dec 03, 2009 10:15 am So a week and a half on..,.we have lawn... one boundary fence, a double gate.. and parts of the front fence. The guy came out to deliver 3 panels yesterday.. to discover he had stuffed up when measuring. So he had to take them back and fix. Wont be sorted till next week now. At least it looks fanastic (in my absolutely unbiased opinion!)
