We went so close to using Mark but ended up with M. Oh for the time over again! Sound like a fantastic block. My guess being with Mark somewhere on the Northside? We designed the house with the typical queensland attitude of trying to bring some of the outdoors in. The living, kitchen, dining and outdoor room open up into one big space. The flooring for the outdoor room will level with indoors and the stackers are recessed in for that flush look. We gave the kids there own end of the house and tried to keep the laundry/garage on the other. We are also happy with how its turned out. To answer a few of your questions. - The block is at Cashmere in Greenwoods estate http://www.greenwoodsestate.com.au/ - Bedroom 4 is a little seperate as it will be a guest room. Bedroom 2 and 3 are for the kids. - We almost went with 'M', the Grandview 36 was part of our inspiration with our design. We had heard good things about Mark and have seen some nice homes in our old estate done by him. So fingers crossed Colour selections and details i hope to get up tomorrow. We're having Mountain Shadow render on our facade, contrast with... Burma Buff or something like that... Also having monument fascia, gutters, downpipes (bristile roof tiles), timber look roller door. We were looking at modwood too. Did you compare prices between modwood and timber? Cant wait to watch your build. Colours all sound great!! Re: Scott & Tanyas New Mark Wust Home in BNE - about to start 12Oct 12, 2009 12:35 pm aaron4erin scott_tanya OK update time. Timber is a few dollars less. We need about 550 lineal metres so we are looking at about $5000 just for decking boards which is pretty up there. That said QLD sun so dont want timber to wear and need constant maintenance. Hopefully will be money well spent:) Re: Scott & Tanyas New Mark Wust Home in BNE - about to start 13Oct 17, 2009 6:37 am Well we have made some changes to our colour selections Firstly all walls now to be Hogsbristle halfstrength. We had hogsbristle in our last placed and loved it but wanted some thing new. That said we test painted the duck it looked like concrete a little too much. So have gone back to hogs. We also scrapped the Henna red, the red and with olive green looks way way to heritage when near each other. Has been reaplced with Dulux Snuggle Pie (a brownie colour) so much warmer and contemporary we feel. bank has under valued the house by 20,000 which is a pretty vital 20,000 (decking, landscape, fences, free stand bath) so we either have to cope it on the chin for timebing or find another lender that will value it where we need real quick since next payment is due in about 4-6 weeks Re: Scott & Tanyas New Mark Wust Home in BNE - about to start 14Oct 18, 2009 11:30 am Hi We too are currently looking at building a modwood deck, especially since the new "grain" versions were released. After looking at what termites and the weather has done to our existing deck the advantages of mod wood can't be resisted. However, we can't seem to find it less than $10 l/m. Can I ask where you got the $8 l/m quote from? That $2 will save us a few thousand dollars! We live quite near your build and actually looked at Greenwood's for a land/build project a few months ago. Thanks Michael Re: Scott & Tanyas New Mark Wust Home in BNE - about to start 15Oct 19, 2009 7:27 pm Sorry for delay in replying back OK i went on modwoods webpage and looked up all stockists in Brisbane northside. They are the ones at Virginia (H&H Timber) who came in at $8.xx a Lineal metre That said bunnings can also order it in and im yet to go see them for a quote so they may come in cheaper still Hope that helps Re: Scott & Tanyas New Mark Wust Home in BNE - about to start 16Nov 07, 2009 8:36 pm Hi Thanks for that - we finally managed to get a quote for Modwood from bunnings - after 3 attempts with them telling us that they don't stock it anymore. They do, so if you ring up and they say they don't harass them - it's a special order and it's under some other category than "modwood". They quoted just under $8 a metre. Thanks Michael Re: Scott & Tanyas New Mark Wust Home in BNE - about to start 17Dec 31, 2009 2:56 pm OK...update time. We have been so busy that we havent posted our progress and geez has there been alot. So far very impressed with our builder. There has been guys on site almost every day, barely any issues and what i have noticed has been very small and fixed without arguement or hassle. That said we have had more colour selection changes due to upgrading to stone benchtops (black) but are locked in now, so know more changing our minds Here are some happy snaps so far Block levelled Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Plumbing in Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Slab down Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Frame Up Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Roof on Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Windows and Doors in - photo of our butt join stackers that lead onto outdoor room Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Pre wiring & Aircon Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Bricks Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Plaster Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Render Quarter of house rendered before xmas.
