Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Alarm System 5Oct 09, 2009 9:04 am My builder was asking for $1600 .. I have external quotes for $800, $1050 and $1200 .. having similar features .. So i think i'll get it done after handover .. But if your builder gave you that price, get it installed with them .. its only a $100 difference to what you'll find in the market .. --- I don't have a signature - just this sentence saying that I don't have one - that'll do! Last alarm I had installed cost $1,000 six years ago with 8 zones 4 IR detectors and 1 key pad. This time my builder wants $1,499 for "an alarm". A 2-storey house is probably more difficult to alarm than a single-storey house after handover. Once you know the basics, the rest is easy.
