Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 07, 2009 9:14 am Hi All, I am wondering if people could post pics of how their floor tiling meeting with the wall and wall tiling have been finished by the builder? Mine appears to have nothing above it like any plaster like grout. Just checked out mum and dad's and they have maybe a grout type of substance which has been levelled off to an angle up from the tile towards the wall, hope that makes sense.. Many thanks Re: Tiling and finishes 2Oct 07, 2009 11:13 am I know exactly what you're talking about. You have the colour of the tile face, but the edge is the 'raw' tile colour, then the colour of the painted wall. Apparantly most tilers will either run some grout with a 45 deg bevile along the exposed edge or you can buy little strips (quarters) of crome etc. Our builder has done nothing and told me that's what they always do. (which is his answer to alot of queries) Re: Tiling and finishes 3Oct 08, 2009 9:30 am Thanks so much for your reply, I have just met with the ss and he said that is also "the way we do it". I am off to the display home near me to have a look as this looks terrible. Where would you buy the little bits of chrome from?? Many thanks Re: Tiling and finishes 4Oct 08, 2009 10:05 am If you contact a metal supply company - look in yellow pages for steel suppliers, most strips of metal/steel come in lengths of 4mtrs etc, some places have a cutting service as well.
