Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 05, 2009 9:43 pm I got a phone call from SS today saying that we have an issue with our front door. Carpenter has just put on our front door as we have had a temporary door since lock up. And now that they've gone to put our handle and deadlock on, the carpenter and SS had some concerns as to how to make it all fit nicely. He's also doubtful that there will be enough room to have the handle and deadlock side by side half way up the door as the side panel of the door where all this goes is quite narrow....he feels that it will be difficult to open the door. 3. He also says that with the length of the handle....the lock will look funny if it is above or below the bar. I don't think that will look nice. -------------- So help!!!!! What should I do? Can it be done? Will my key problem be solved if I change my double cylinder deadlock to just a single cylinder deadlock? Can both handle and lock fit on the madison door? If you have any photos....please show me. I am curious to see if there is enough room to insert a key in the lock easily. Urgh!!!! TIA!!! I would suggest going for something like this: http://www.locksgalore.com.au/?page=sho ... eadlatches That would solve your problem with needing a key to open the door on the inside. if it was me i'd change the handle.
