3xb Re: 700m2+ block - Single storey or double storey? 22Jun 26, 2007 3:44 pm From personal experience - Build the one shed as big as you need.
Otherwise the thing you need in shed A is always in shed D. Been there done that - had 5 sheds on my place - an old Dairy farm A pain in the neck. Ta.. Built Porter Davis "Dromana" 2007. Re: 700m2+ block - Single storey or double storey? 24Jun 26, 2007 4:05 pm Don't quote me but in Vic I believe that anything over 10sqm requires a permit. So something like 3.8 x 2.6 if such a size exists would be perfect. Multiply by 4 gives nearly 40sqm. Thinking of 2 for firewood storage, 1 for storage and garden tools and 1 for me, my own lockable domain where I can work or build things without kids getting access. And then we want a greenhouse...there goes the budget. Maybe the wood storage doesn't need a concrete floor.

Also for the planning permit, wonder if it would come under "Gardening" in this on: http://www.dse.vic.gov.au/planningschemes/aavpp/62.pdf 3xb Re: 700m2+ block - Single storey or double storey? 27Jun 26, 2007 4:48 pm 3xb, I'd make the firewood store a lean to - off one of your sheds, and you don't need to store 10 ton of wood undercover.!!!! Store 1 years supply of wood undercover, and the other half you put under cover as your using the other and it will dry in time. a piece of iron is fine for under the wood, then concrete it later.
And the garden shed can be a lean too off the other shed if desired or a sperate one up to you. Just remember that the satelittes take photos all the time and councils now use this data to checking for things like - unauthorised sheds being built. I know a guy in SA who's business is making digital images (yes he owns part of some satellites) and they run comparisons across their fly by data each year as a fee for service for the councils and their reports show up any discrepancies - council then knows where to look on the photo and then they review it by eye to se why is it different. Ohh Bugga new unapproved shed So don't think they wont find it Happy shed building Steve Re: 700m2+ block - Single storey or double storey? 28Jun 26, 2007 4:59 pm 3timesbuilda Just looked it up, only applies to the building permit: http://www.yarraranges.vic.gov.au/Files ... ations.pdf See item 12. Everyday a pile builds at the bottom of the stairs of all the things I need to carry up and vice versa. I swear under my breath when I just get downstairs and realise I've left something upstairs and have to turn around and go up again. Suddenly I hate stairs and I'll be stuck with them forever. Double storey though means I get all that extra space !! He uses digital imaging, not photos. so he can work out what type of surface it is His biggest client is defence - and the councils, country fire service etc are just small fry for whom he creates views from previous satellite passes that he has programmed in. It's pretty specky stuff. 3D Profiling, Flythroughs, all sorts of stuff and they are getting down to 1M resolution.
