Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone Flying SOLO?? 201Oct 08, 2009 8:25 pm Didn't cost anything Bigred. It's just that I had two choices in the standard selection, the plain ones you see in most peoples homes or more old fashioned ornate ones. I'm afraid they might stand out a bit. It couldn't be a major job changing them later if they look wierd ------------------- Thanks Jodie. I'm told earthy colours are neutral selections so if you find it's too drab you can add almost any colour with furniture and paintings(or scarface posters) Gravity. Its the law. Re: Anyone Flying SOLO?? 205Oct 09, 2009 12:29 am I'm doing the same and I'm happy with it. I have this kickass round table, which I inherited from my grandmother. It's worth quite a bit, and I like the look of it. It wont match anything. I'm getting a free fridge/freezer as well. Why would I buy one when I can get one for free? Last time I checked, a fridge holds food. The only difference between fridge A and fridge B is the finish to it. But if I can save money on buying a fridge and spend it on putting some damn beer in a second-hand one, then I'm all for it. You gotta play it smart these days! Re: Anyone Flying SOLO?? 206Oct 09, 2009 1:27 am I'm getting a new couch. My current one has half the arm ripped off due to an exploratory mission by Professor Midas (PhD K9 PITA). His investigation of the tearing properties of old, thin fabric was well researched, but he will not be provided with funding or materials to allow him to further his research at this stage. However, his findings have enabled his benefactor to identify possible solutions, with the final aim being the purchase of hard-wearing, long-lasting seating when Prof. Midas' lab relocates to a brand new facility in the new year My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months! I have one great hand me down like Bigred. An ancient bookcase my grandparents took with them when they left Ceylon(now Sri Lanka). It was made fifty years before I was born and will survive armaggedon. The first book I ever read for fun came from that bookcase(book called Dusty), now I work as a writer(part time). She can't really fit it in her house and it will one day come to me, but perhaps it can be safely kept in one of my spare rooms My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months! Re: Anyone Flying SOLO?? 212Jan 22, 2010 8:11 pm Am currently painting but don't think it will be finished in time. Lots of walls in a big house However the insurance company has a policy of only vacant for 60 days so I don't really have a choice. Tiling will also need to be done but as I work shift work and dad works during the week it will take a bit of time to finish that. Will just have to live with carpets in bedrooms and concrete floor everywhere else for a while Will do the landscaping after finishing off the inside Built with RedInk Custom 5000 Key Handover 15/12/2009 Re: Anyone Flying SOLO?? 213Jan 22, 2010 8:24 pm bigred I'm doing the same and I'm happy with it.
