Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 01, 2009 7:59 am I got a bit confused with the answers I found regarding a similar threat and building with PD. I am going to build with Simonds a Flagstone in Point Cook (kind of "U-shape" with the alfresco "integrated"). I fixed my site costs, due to this "upgrade" I will get a H-class slab instead of M-class slab. My questions is: Does this mean the alfresco area has to be done as well in concrete as part of the slab (one user mentioned something like this -> stability of slab) although it is not mentioned and not promised? Was this just a "nice to have" or a general requirement when building a H-class slab (as discussed in another threat about Porter Davis)? Best regards, Christian Re: H class slab, alfresco area always included? 2Oct 01, 2009 10:11 am We're building with PD and opted to pay for the alfresco slab. Then found out we need an H-D class slab. Alfresco slab (with piering) is still separate. We were advised that only P class includes alfresco slab. Whether we were given incorrect information we don't know. Life is; then you tell yourself a story. We have on our contract: a) Provide "HD" class waffle foundation system to Alfresco are to suit site classification and recommendations as per Engineer's report. b) Provide concrete piering to Alfresco slab (greater than (15 lineal metres) including additional mesh, labour and removal of excess soil. Total for alfresco is about $3k. Not sure if we're having the wool pulled over our eyes. Life is; then you tell yourself a story. The Soil classification has little to do with piers.
