Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 30, 2009 6:46 pm Hi everyone, We have signed our final contracts and are so close to construction that we have been told that it is too late to add in a tiles shower base which was left out...however we have now een hit with a price rise... Our land has settled, we have a title issued in our name, a planning permit, bank approval (not 100% on the formaility at this stage as the homeloan appears on my netbanking but there is no amount with it). So I am unsure why our contract is not considered unconditional - or why we have to pay the extra money. Any ideas? Experiences? We are looking at paying our deposit on friday for the soho 29. I always thought once you paid ur deposit it locked the prices in???? Re: M Price Rise 3Sep 30, 2009 8:00 pm As far as I knew...as long as you got to contract before a certain time period and then started within a certain time period the prices are locked. The "we could increase the price if not started by x date" was in my signed contract. Are you past this date yet? We are going with S and got in just before the price rise and they were happy to honour it (which saved me $5k! ) Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!! Now comes all the hard work-decorating.... Its not a lot of money at this stage - but it increases every month and M havent even had our building permit approved yet! We provided them with a planning permit so it should have been straight forward. My HTB is going to call the sales guy tomorrow to sort it out...Ill keep u posted! This was due to our land as it didn't settle till June, I think we paid about $1,600 in the end. We didn't have to pay the $15K I think that our house had increased over the time. Hope you get it sorted out Forum thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22300 Wow I hadn't realised things had gotten that pricey in just a couple of years since I built, that is crazy with how much land is now costing if you aren't lucky enough to… 3 7136 Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 35332 Just to makea point about this, an approach that some people have found sucessful in negotiating these rises down, Is to provide some workings to the builder, specifying… 4 81733 |
