Browse Forums Building A New House Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5401Aug 06, 2014 9:30 am We used New Home Inspections for frame and pre plaster. They were very thorough and did give us a feeling of security although our site supervisor tried to talk us out of it. He said that they pick on piddly things so they have something to report and overall that proved to be true. We are undecided if we will do the pre handover inspection at this stage. Good luck with your decision. Never thought can negotiate prices with them. Hi Nick2K, Can I ask what price you were offered and for how many? Hi Bards, I am in a process of getting that information in writing, once I got it in writing - I am happy to share it with you guys. Before that if something goes wrong I have no leg to stand on. I hope you understand. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5409Aug 07, 2014 2:22 pm Hi All, Got a question regarding LED lighting, not sure if its already been discussed here. Is anybody doing LED lighting post handover (in Single Story?). If so, are you getting extra batten fixed from Builder or will you be doing those post hand as well. If you getting those done from builder, then any idea how much they charge for those? Thanks. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5410Aug 07, 2014 2:29 pm Understandable Nick2K Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5411Aug 07, 2014 3:30 pm f1rst_h0me Hi All, Got a question regarding LED lighting, not sure if its already been discussed here. I'm looking at getting LED lighting done, Builder to install on ground floor, and post hand over to be done on 1st Floor. You'll only need extra batten if you're looking to add in more. You can use you're existing Batten, just re-locate them closer to a door then a sparky can join it with the other LED down lights to be fitted in the room, instead having the batten in the middle of the room, sparky needs more wiring. From memory, extra Batten is 50$. Hopefully this will be cheaper option than paying 50$ each for batten only. It appears many went for the Manhattan which appears perhaps arguably the most flexible. It appears many went for the Manhattan which appears perhaps arguably the most flexible. Great question! I always wonder what the most popular (sold) designs are. Love to see their stats on homes built!! http://nelson46.blogspot.com.au Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5415Aug 08, 2014 2:58 pm Dakota30 We put in a feature tile it was on display on the big wall at spectra and just for our ensuite 300mm high it was $360. When I was at Beaumont's before our selections, I asked them there roughly how much the feature tiles were and they start from $30 + per tile awesome, thanks! we're only interesting in doing it to the ensuite aswell i think Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5417Aug 09, 2014 8:56 am Hi everyone, this is my first post. We are building a two store Claremont 35 and one of the site cost items listed was shade cloth protection for $1,016. Has anyone also been quoted this much for this item? Is this reasonable? Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5418Aug 09, 2014 8:31 pm Claremont35Customer Hi everyone, this is my first post. We are building a two store Claremont 35 and one of the site cost items listed was shade cloth protection for $1,016. Has anyone also been quoted this much for this item? Is this reasonable? Hi Claremont35., Our cost was $610. We were always unsure of what this was for. I thought it was sun protection!!! Bit steep in the middle of Winter!! Our contract states that it's for boundaries closer than 3000mm. If your house is close to the boundaries on a few sides, I would say it would escalate your costs. I believe it stops debris from going onto other properties. Ours just went up last week and it protects the side where we have a neighbour (a small section of this, on the garage wall and above). This is our only wall close to the boundary. Those hidden costs are quite annoying. We also had to pay for sediment control barriers for approx $300 and most of those ended up in the skip after different trades used their machines. But what choice do you really have?! http://nelson46.blogspot.com.au Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General - Shower screen 5419Aug 10, 2014 3:58 pm Hi, Has anyone discussed having a glass splashback in the Shower with Carlisle? If so what cost was involved?? It looks pretty nice and will be easy to maintain Cheers Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General - Shower screen 5420Aug 10, 2014 3:58 pm Hi, Has anyone discussed having a glass splashback in the Shower with Carlisle?
