Was it when you have the keys of the house or you can do it a week before the handover? I was told by my SS that I can only do my driveway and fencing once I have the keys but that sounds illogical to us as there are so many issues of theft on the area (as my SS said) and that's more reason why you should have the fencing done. And for the driveway, we will end up parking on the street for the first few days as we need to wait for the concrete to dry. Hope you can share your experience on this items. Thanks... Our SS let us put the fences up as soon as we had PCI but driveways had to wait until after handover as they didn't want to be responsible in case a delivery truck etc damaged the concrete. I guess it depends on what your SS is comfortable with. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 3344Oct 01, 2012 12:53 pm Hi, Any members can recomend a good building Inspector in the Western Suburbs? Do we have to send CH copy of asset protection permit, 4 weeks before the expected build start or when we get the final drawings to sign off? Thanks Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 3345Oct 01, 2012 2:12 pm ksj Hi, Any members can recomend a good building Inspector in the Western Suburbs? Do we have to send CH copy of asset protection permit, 4 weeks before the expected build start or when we get the final drawings to sign off? Thanks Hi KSJ Not sure who your council is, but I called Melton Shire Council when I received the permit from CH and they advised me to only pay and send the form approx 7-10 days before site start. This is so a more accurate inspection is made closer to your build. The inspectors usually go to your property within 1-2 days of receiving payment. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 3346Oct 01, 2012 4:13 pm We are meant to be doing contracts tomorrow with Carlisle at 9am, but we are still waiting for the contracts to be delivered to us. Is this normal?? We have been very pleased with everything else so far but we are annoyed about the contracts coming so late!! How are we meant to get time to read over them? Should we be worried about building with them? How long before contract signing appointment did you receive yours? Thanks Kym Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 3348Oct 01, 2012 4:20 pm willow2012 We are meant to be doing contracts tomorrow with Carlisle at 9am, but we are still waiting for the contracts to be delivered to us. We definitely felt rushed, but our CLE gave us plenty of time at the appt to ask questions and go through things. We needed some downlights added and a few more electrical power points done on the ground floor. However, our inept, slow and inexperienced CLO advised us we CH don't do any post contract variations?? Thanks. Regards, Willis. Think you need to pay some $$ ($100 or $500) to get it change. Is stated in the contract. At what stage are you in? Is your final drawing out yet or has your house commenced building? It has not commenced building, I think the final drawing has been given to us (I assume this is the one we got after signing the contract). Who would I need to speak to if I can't get past the CLO? Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 3354Oct 03, 2012 3:22 pm You get your final drawings once you have land titles and council permits, which need to be signed off just before you go to site We had the option of adding in as there was a lot of delays with our title and were still a little way off starting. Whos your CLE? Whos your CLE? We're actually a demolish and build job, so a little different, however, we have not had the council permits yet. We are in the stage where they are conducting a 2nd soil test, our old house has been demolished. I will PM you who our CLO is, sorry to say, she is hopeless, absolutely hopeless....I have to recheck EVERYTHING she advises us and take with a grain of salt everything she emails me. There were things that had I not checked over which would have gone wildly astray and cost us a heap in the process. Jen, by the way, did it cost you much to do a variation? Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 3356Oct 03, 2012 4:05 pm We didnt end up doing it, but it was only going to cost us the original price of the upgrade, no extra for having a variation. If you havent had your finals started to be drawn up I dont really see why they cant. Building the Carlisle Sienna 31 at Somerfield Lot 1550 The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 3357Oct 03, 2012 4:18 pm You can definitely do a PCV. The cost is specified in our contract. I think it's $250 but don't quote me. Could you ask for a new CLE? Ours has been absolutely brilliant!
