Yeah, too large a span to not have a downpipe on the front. It was positioned between the window of the garage and the portico, we shifted it to the side of the garage as then most will be hidden by shrubs once landscaping is done. Anyways, on good news, just back from our building inspection (did most of our PCI basically haha). Please to reprot there are no major structural or cosmetic issues, all minor fixes which will be remedied for the real PCI on Tuesday. Our building inspector who is a builder himself was rather impressed with the finish and even more impressed at how some of the things were done that are not normally done by major volume builders. It is the bog stock one, all the others were too modern for us LOL. We also pulled the window from the Walk in robe to put into the garage extension as we wanted the WIR to be fitted out the same as the display. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2792Mar 29, 2012 7:55 pm Hi everyone, been "stalking" here trying to get some information and figured I should just ask Hubby and I want to build with Carlisle and have been told that yes they will build in our area but not on our block something to do with the batter (???) which to our understanding is at the back of the block (our block is 21m wide and 48m deep so not sure how it's a prob). Anyway, my Q is is there anything we can do to 'change their minds' and get the house we really want instead of having to settle for something through someone else? Thanks Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2793Mar 29, 2012 9:30 pm Hi Myshka, I have no idea what a batter is? Our block is 19 x 44 and they built on ours without issue? Give Esther @ Affinty Williams Landing a call, she is very helpful, if you get no help ask if you can speak to Hans. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2796Mar 30, 2012 8:13 pm coobri Hey CBPH how did PCI go ? Tis on Tuesday, was moved last week when we asked for our building inspector to go through earlier. Our SS has everyone in to fix everything this weekend (painter is being paid to stay in Geelong the night lol) that was picked up by the inspector so that the new home inspection will basically be a final (we are both hoping). Given it was all cosmetic and all small things I dare say we could have the keys by Thursday (it seems our SS wants to hand on it over). Bank cheque is sitting in my file, Occupancy certificate has been issued and given to bank as has insurance. So basically, now it is just up to Carlisle. Will be a brilliant easter if it all hands over before then! All I can say after all this is that we have been so lucky to have such a brilliant SS. Requests along the way have been followed up, he has been in constant contact and been ever so polite with a few grievances we had. We have a great bounty of goodies for him to hand over when we get the keys. He did right by us (as he should as a professional) and in turn we will look after him...after all he did save us almost 5k in variations that we missed Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2797Mar 30, 2012 10:49 pm Hello everyone, This is my first post in this thread. I have been active in Homeone when I was building my first home. Now, I am thinking to build the Baltimore 40 for our second home. I really like the design of Baltimore 40 and there is only one modification that I would like to make, which is moving the wall between family and rumpus backwards by 0.5 metre (so the family will be bigger by 0.5M and the rumpus will be small by 0.5M). But I was advised by CH that this cannot be done. When I asked if it is a load bearing wall, CH said it is not load bearing, but there is a steel beam running through the wall. I am actually quite disappointed that I cannot make this really minor changes. Anyone that has built or is building the Baltimore (or other double storey houses) and had the same issue? Would like to know your view on this. Thanks! FND Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2798Apr 01, 2012 1:08 pm Hi FND, We didn't face the same issue, but I think that's a nice change for Baltimore... we are building the Baltimore 40.. i remember there was one structural change for Prominence, if I'm not mistaken, where the wall between the study and lounge was removed to create a bigger area. Hope CH will eventually cater to your request.. good luck. fourgs Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2799Apr 01, 2012 11:19 pm Hi fourgs, Oh you are building the Baltimore too =) Have you had your site start yet? Did you make any structural changes to the Baltimore? Sorry to be asking lots of questions =) FND Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2800Apr 02, 2012 8:49 am FND Hi fourgs, Oh you are building the Baltimore too =) Have you had your site start yet? Did you make any structural changes to the Baltimore? Sorry to be asking lots of questions =) FND Hi FND, We have a few structural changes such as 1.4m garage extension, solid wall instead of open wall to rumpus which will be our theatre room, and wall in family to be same as display house minus the fireplace provision. Our site start is set on April 13th fourgs 0 4982 We are at the stage on our build in Kilcoy, Queensland where we need to get our fencing installed but we cant get any contact details for our neighbours to give them… 0 6160 You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14105 |
