My building plan has about 100 - 120 mm gap on the left and right hand side. Now, I'm thinking to shift the house so that our garage will be attach to their garage, leaving no gap in the boundary. Is it better? Or should I leave it as it is? Thanks all Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2547Jan 24, 2012 4:52 pm I am fairly sure to change it, it requires council approval, we decided to leabve ours 100mm off as we really didnt want to run the risk of delay. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2552Jan 25, 2012 10:46 am I have a question for you guys - our splashback, as in the drawing and as confirmed with our CLEm will be in 2 pcs. Reason is that one part will be slightly shorter than the other as there are overhead cupboards. Has anyone had this issue? Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2553Jan 25, 2012 3:39 pm momofthree I have a question for you guys - our splashback, as in the drawing and as confirmed with our CLEm will be in 2 pcs. Reason is that one part will be slightly shorter than the other as there are overhead cupboards. Has anyone had this issue? I understand where CLE is coming from?? Splashback under cupboards is one piece. As Carlisle also install splashback behind rangehood this is another section of glass and the join is hidden by the rangehood placement. Make sense Mine is perfect Carlisle Homes 'Savannah 28' Visit our Blog: http://www.oursavannah28.blogspot.com Handover 31st March, 2011 - Landscaping completed Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2555Jan 27, 2012 10:49 am CBPH Are you able to post up an image of the drawing? I would have but I have yet to find out how to post image here Picture this (facing the stove): the bottom of the cupboard to the left of the stove is not in line with the bottom of the cupboard to the right; it's slightly lower because of open laminated shelf that is a 'feature' of the alternate kitchen layout that comes with Pagoda 31. So the part below that left cupboard all the way to the left portion of the kitchen will have X as height of the splashback. The portion of the cooker, including the right cupboard all the way to that direction will have X+Y (Y, being the height of the laminated shelf in left side) as height of the splashback. This height is also in line with the tip end of the rangehood. Hope this makes sense. Given this explanation and after discussing possible options, we've decided to just go with it as the other options may not look good and/or we're going to loose some usable shelf space. For me this is fine, what wasn't is that the CLE if not for our prodding won't spend time to make us understand why it can't happen. The initial reasoning given is because of the size; however as per specification, only when splashback is more than 3.6m can it not be in 1 piece because of OH&S reqts. And then when we explored the reasoning, we were given the other reasoning that it's because of the layout. So really, it's not reason 1 but reason 2. Debra50, yeah, I saw that join in your splashback, hoping ours would look as seemless. My only concern is that oil, grime, etc might accummulate on that part of the splashback , hope it doesn't happen. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2556Jan 27, 2012 9:04 pm Just an update from our site, full steam ahead, framing began today, trusses etc arrive Wednesday. Loving our SS, easy to get along with and always answer the phone. Kudos to Carlisle for everything to date, been such a smooth ride since dumping that other mob.
