Having Ceasarstone debates with my wife at the moment, we can't decide whethre to go with White Shimmer or Ice Snow. I like the textured look of the Ice Snow but it seems to throw a bit of a yellow colour from a distance, whereas the White Shimmer has a greyish base which fits better with our colours. Is the "Shimmer" really noticeable or does it just look like a big white slab?? I love the Nougat but I think its about $2000 upgrade so I don't love it that much haha Hey there Titch, We put EVERYTHING into our tender and although we had to cut several things out, we were pleasantly surprised at the price of many upgrades. It was kind of fun to have to make those final "this over that" decisions - like, you can have your theatre pre-wire if I can have my undermount sinks. Feature tiles - we went for those nickel airstrip ones they feature at Spectra. Originally we were having a whole shower wall of them in the bathroom, but ended up with a strip only. From memory, they were about $600 each shower. I hope they look good Building Carlisle Homes "Monaco" @ The Avenue at Casey What's happening?... Many Thanks CKR We just signed our contracts and did some last minute changes on the electrical plans. We were pleasantly surprised that they allowed us to do this. Some of the changes were their mistake but we took this opp to fix some of the placement issues of the light switches. So there is always a chance to change stuff on the contract day and they will just raise it as post contract variation. I guess after that it will be difficult. 26/2 - Sales 23/3 - Colours 31/3 - Tender 14/4 - Contract 7/5 - Taps 12/6 - Site start 15/6 - Slab 27/6 - Frame 1/8 - Lockup/Fixing 29/9 - PCI 25/10 - Handover Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2052Apr 16, 2011 1:49 pm Titch101 I have a question for anyone building T-range on the current "As Displayed" promo - We were told at the colour browse that we could only choose from Cat1 kitchen handles which went up to about 300mm in length and the longer handles were an upgrade of about $20 per handle. I checked the promo brochure and it states "Choose from seven designer handles up to 520mm in length". Can anyone confirm we are able to get the longer handles at no extra cost?? I have emailed my CLE and am waiting on confirmation but thought I'd check with fellow Carlislers too. Het titch...we have choosen Massimo 194mm (std) for cabiet handles and have the Valentino 448mm handles for the pantry doors...again std. I am sure you ca use the Valentino series anywhere else too. Hope that helps. Guys we took the pre wire intercom monitoring and were just wondering if there is a need for a power point next to each monitor panel (PWIM) ? The pre wire comes with the wiring option for the outdoor ringer/webcam (PWIC) and internal 2 monitors (PWIM) plus the power point for the Panel (SPP). We have a power point by default next to one of the PWIM but the other PWIM has no power point. I would have thought the colour consultant would have told us if that was the case but now I am thinking how exactly is the second monitor be powered up ? Has anyone taken this option ? 26/2 - Sales 23/3 - Colours 31/3 - Tender 14/4 - Contract 7/5 - Taps 12/6 - Site start 15/6 - Slab 27/6 - Frame 1/8 - Lockup/Fixing 29/9 - PCI 25/10 - Handover Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2053Apr 17, 2011 8:32 pm Hi Madison27AA, Thanks for the info on last minute changes. You did well get the Velentino 448mm handles as standard.. These handles were quoted as CAT 1a and costs were about $19 each? I will ask at the tender. Hi All. FYI We just learnt that Austral Brick has shut down two plants to make way for a new one. As the new one is not operational yet, the bricks are coming from a factory near NSW. We wanted the Homestead Tan and the Homestead Tan that comes out of this factory near NSW is NOT the same in colour. The shade is a lighter brown - not even close to the original. As this is only recent, there are not houses built with this new shade so we could not see what the brick would look like over a large area?? Anyone who has chosen Homestead Tan should check the new shade - I am sure CH will advise you anyway. The Austral Bricks sales people says once the new factory is up and running, the shade should revert back to the dark brown. Not sure how many months away this is? If you have accepted this new Homestead Tan from Austral Bricks, please upload photo and let us know your thoughts? Cheers CKR Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2054Apr 17, 2011 10:22 pm Hi CKR....maybe we just got lucky....but these handles were used in the Madison display house for pantry doors so we just asked for teh same. We were told these were std for T range homes. Bellmore is a Affinity series ..I am surprised this was an upgrade for this series. Maybe a good idea to chk again... We have taken the homestead series too...will be very unhappy if a lighter shade just turns up during our build .... If its way too light then we would go with Homestead Blackwood. I think Debra has used these bricks and they look great . 26/2 - Sales 23/3 - Colours 31/3 - Tender 14/4 - Contract 7/5 - Taps 12/6 - Site start 15/6 - Slab 27/6 - Frame 1/8 - Lockup/Fixing 29/9 - PCI 25/10 - Handover Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 2055Apr 18, 2011 9:57 am Hi CKR, We selected the Homestead Tan as our brick with the blackwood as backup and had them delivered about a week ago. Can't even remember now how they looked in the showroom and had no info about a colour change. Anyway, this is a pic of the bricks as delivered.. For those that have experience with PD, is it similar to their selection where your plans are brought up on the computer and items added/removed with switch locations and costs calculated instantly or is it more a scribble on your plans with pencil approach?? I have reworked the electrical plan myself and found with PD it was great to go room by room and move GPO's add 2way switches etc. and the fact it was costed as we went meant we could stay within our budget easily. I had used this thread for the costs involved for any extras points etc. These costs can also be confirmed at the colours (unlike other options). Hi Alex....to me they look brown enough. It's a very different experience to PD where you go to an Argus consultant who could barely stay awake. Your colour consultant takes you through the electrical as well, but it's also on a room by room basis. Ours was fantastic and actually had more knowledge than the Argus guy at PD, suggesting things we hadn't thought of, such as junction boxes for future garden lighting, water features and two-way switches at really sensible points. Our consultant openly disclosed the price of each item and we kept a running tally to TRY to stay on budget (unsuccessfully though).
