Hey there flipflop, we had our tender today too!
I swear I held my breath the whole time they were going line by line through the upgrades (we put our entire wishlist in knowing we could delete things that were too exey). And when we got to the "bottom line" which as expected smashed our budget, our 2 presenters were so considerate and left us to decide (by scissors, rock, paper) what would stay and what would go. It was so handy having spectra right next door coz we had to change a couple of things, but we're now on (amended) budget and really looking forward to the build starting.
After going though this process with another builder who will remain PD nameless, this was so much more positive. You rock Carlisle!
Can't wait to see your blog flipflop and watch your build take shape as we'll probably be starting around the same time!!
Our bottom line was a bit over our expectation but after a few alterations (front door glazing, security alarm and some lights) we were fine. The tender presentation took less than 2 hours and we were happy that our presenter commende our being organised and knowing what we really want which made his presenting easier. Next task is conditional approval with our bank
