Can't wait to use it! Building Atlantique 36 At fix stage Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1456Jul 16, 2010 10:07 am I am up to the stage signing contract soon. Can anyone please tell me other than the plain English standard contract and contract drawings, did you receive anything else from CH? Is there any tricky things on contract from your experience? Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1457Jul 16, 2010 10:14 am sarahq Pangit, from what I hear Brandon is basically one of the best supervisors. I know about 4 people who had him and none of them had any major problems Smelly Melly, it feels like we have just had holdup after holdup. Worst one has been the bricking. They are onto about the 3rd time to fix it now at least they have been good with fixing things we are not happy with! No flatter alternative for expansion joint unfortunately. Ended up meeting flooring contractor onside and getting one that is the exact same colour as the flooring and was a bit smaller than the original. We are ok with it, it's located in a good place at least! Had a site meeting this morning to inspect bricks again. SS said handover DEFINITELY before the end of July!! Our contract date is Aug 5th so they might just squeeze in! Hi Sarahq, I have been told need to use expansion joint as well. However, I went to bunnings and was told different story, which is hardwood flooring might need expansion joint but laminate flooring not?! It's so confusing... Anyway, I just wondering where about your expansion joint located in your house? How they decided where to put expansion joint? Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 1458Jul 16, 2010 12:00 pm Anyway, I just wondering where about your expansion joint located in your house? How they decided where to put expansion joint?[/quote] We went down to Glendale Carpets a couple of weeks ago (again!) and spoke to the guy there about this expansion joint issue. He looked at our house plan and said the only place they will have to put one is where the entry meets the kitchen, as it is more than 9 metres of continuous flooring. He told us that wherever the flooring hits approx 9 metres in length there will need to be an expansion joint. But he also said that the location of the expansion joints is up to the discretion of the installer. Apparently the installer chooses where he thinks it is needed and where it will best suit/work. Can't wait to use it! What's a vacpan? Did you add drawers in lieu of one of the floor cupboards that holds the sink/trough? Or in lieu of a linen-type cupboard? Did they charge you for that change? I spoke to one of the reps about this very issue and they said that all the way around the house there are expansion joints which run along side the skirting boards so you don't have to have a big expansion joint running through the middle of your hallway. Apparently the flooring finishes about 1cm either side of the hallway to accomodate for the expansion of the floors. (makes sense to me!) I will be on to my CLO about this BEFORE we have our floors laid.... will not be happy to have an expansion joint sticking up like that in my hallway, when the display home that I am building does not.
