They have mentioned that I need to arrange and pay for asset protection. It is clearly mentioned in the victorian government website https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/housing ... /contracts that you need to check that asset protection cost is included in the contract before signing the contract. Then why Carlisle is not taking the responsibility of asset protection. Moreover, during sale they never mentioned that we need to take care of this. Can anyone share some experience or knowledge please. I have a copy of Metricon contract too where asset protection is included in council costs they are taking. I think the Consumer website is only a guideline as best-practise and not mandate from the Vic Gov. Anyhow I too have to apply for the asset protection and that according to what is written, I have to remediate (i.e. fix) any damages occurred by them. When i raised it, I was told that other 'smaller' builder might do it but at Carlisle they don't. My parents build with Hatano Homes recently, they also asked my parents to apply for the asset protection with Council. However, their approach is to fix up everything to the satisfaction of the council at the end of their built. So their approach is 'we will damage it but we will fix it up!!!'. I finding that they are not very transparent with their costing. This list keep getting longer. We have to pay the Asset Protection directly to our local council. We didn’t know this until our tender appointment. When we questioned this, we were told Carlisle don’t include the Asset Protection in their standard inclusion because different councils have different requirements and not all councils require Asset Protection bond.I am not sure it is true or not. They also told us they will fix any damage caused by their contractors or reimburse certain cost if we want to fix the damage. It is written in our tender. Yours should be the same. Just wondering if anyone can give some recommendation on which phase we should hire an inspector to get the best result. Many thanks Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 6831Dec 18, 2015 12:23 pm Mellily Hi Everyone, We start looking into hiring a private building inspector. Does anyone know how long Carlisle usually take in terms of putting up the frame to lock up stage? We had our slab poured right before Christmas shut down and chose to let it settle for the three week period instead of getting our frame put up. I'm now super anxious to know how long frame stage to lock up is. Our portal says we should be at lock up on the week of 19th but that seems super quick considering they start frame on the 12th??
