Browse Forums Building A New House Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5788Feb 17, 2015 5:21 pm mello182 Hi all does anyone know for arlington 24 of T Range, is it possible to have laminated timber floor instead of floor tiles with current summer sale offering without any price increase? Also, what brand of laminate flooring does carlise offer? Thanks I had laminate flooring included in an older promo but since they removed it, they've changed the supplier/brand of the laminate flooring options - saw this when I went in recently I can't recall the brand but they state on them they're scratch resistant where I presume they're better quality and more expensive then the one included in my promo Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5789Feb 17, 2015 8:02 pm macky1012 hi Mello, we are building aspen 26, and we are planning to choose laminate instead of the standard tiles. From my quote, we are being charged around $700 for this change. Not sure if you could could get this as a free upgrade. thanks macky. do you know the brand of laminate flooring.? Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5790Feb 17, 2015 8:11 pm Not yet. The $700 was on the quote. We will be having our colour selection on the 4th, and will let you know once we have made our selection. But i reckon this is just cat1, so we might pay a few more for if we want to upgrade to higher cat. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5791Feb 18, 2015 6:27 am macky1012 Hi. Has someone upgraded the kitchen cabinets to the glossy finish (we were thinking of one of those white glossy cabinets)? Any idea how much does it cost to upgrade? Thanks! Hi , We upgraded to 'silk finish' it was kind of glossy. $500 upgrade cost on Affinity range house in 2014. Will see if I can get some pictures Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5794Feb 19, 2015 8:18 am Atlantique29 dper Atlantique29 Also interested to know other peoples thoughts on inspections f1rst_h0me. Hopefully we'll start building in May / June and I'm not sure that I'm happy to leave the inspection up to Carlisle alone. After all if there are issues found at the end it will be a nightmare to get fixed or worse won't be seen as the next stage covers up previous faults. I have previously posted about using New Home Inspections and think it is a necessity to use a reputable independent party if you are not a builder (I have no relationship with them). I used them for frame, fixing and PCI. They picked up many things along the way and while some were only minor some of the major items would have been hidden by the next stage of building if not detected by New Homes. This was really important for framing and fixing. As I have also noted previously Carlise were accomodating albeit slow at times making the required changes as Trades had moved on to the next home. When you are spending $250k or much more in some cases another $1.5-$2k buys you significant peace of mind. Thanks dper - I'll definitely look into it. After all it's going to be my biggest investment for a while so I want to make sure it's a good one. True..thanks guys.. The cost in lieu of the standard finish is $8,129 and the pantry is $2978. Needless to say, even though I love the finish, we will be choosing something else. Will be asking for prices on Crystal Gloss or Vinyl Wrapped instead. Also, our tender document, which we haven't signed yet, does state that "Clients to be aware that horizontal surfaces are prone to scratching due to the nature of the finished surface and this will not be a maintenance item following handover of the house". So I guess that scratching will not be covered under the warranty. macky1012 Hi. Almost 10k for cupboard upgrade seems ridiculous. Even if you have a big kitchen and pantry, it still seems high. Still cant make the decision, as it seems that the glossy finish wont be covered by warranty. And we really havent fully decided in our coulour scheme. Only thing we know now is we want a laminate floor (lighter shade) and the house to be bright. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5798Feb 19, 2015 8:26 pm Hi sorento39. Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5799Feb 19, 2015 9:40 pm Hi all Just wanted to know. Do they give evrything as shown in facade offered by Carlisle for T range? For example "Riviera" facade shown as for $2450 in website has a timber cladding area. Is that also included in the price? Thanks Re: The CARLISLE HOMES & SPECTRA General Information Thread 5800Feb 19, 2015 9:48 pm Hi mello. Not all. As per my discussion with my sc, cladding is included. But the lights on the post needs to be added (but will check during my colour appointment on the 4th). 0 4984 We are at the stage on our build in Kilcoy, Queensland where we need to get our fencing installed but we cant get any contact details for our neighbours to give them… 0 6161 You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14107 |
