Ahh... Finally someone who used them on this forum and would love to know if yours is offwhite mortar, because in the pics it looks a bit creamy? How did you find the bricks in real life in general? Hi Vetra, Just went by my house today and they bricks were cleaned... Took this photo to show the brick work. Looks Mint! We have had a quick look and already we see a few minor errors. I was just wondering if it is necessary to have a solicitor look through it? Also, (would just like to hear your opinion on this) a bit of background: We first spoke with CH and got the sales quote way back in March. We had left it with the salesman that we paid our 1k and with that they were going to do a soil test so we could get an idea on site costs as it is a sloping block. He said that if we didnt want to go ahead with the build after that than we could take our soil report and we would lose our 1k. He said he would get back to us. Fast forward a month or more and hubby and I still hadnt heard anything so we went back to the home where we first met the salesman. Get there and we are told that he no longer works for the company. We told the lady how we had left things and she "confirmed" with head office that nothing had been done. So since we still hadn't sold our house, we left it as it was. Fast forward to August when we finally sold our house, we were appointed a new sales man and we contd with our sale. Tender wasnt long after and we just received our contract. Upon looking thru the contract, I notice that the soil survey was infact dated MARCH!! I am upset that we weren't told the reports of this test way back than as it could've very much influenced our budget. (site costs came up to around 40k mark) we expected around 30K. Any thoughts on what (if anything) I should do about it? We were in a similar boat with you as well and we were trying to push CH for our site costs and was always pushed back and was told they didn't have it. Although our site cost wasn't as much as yours. Being first home buyers was still a bit of money. Having spoken to other CH clients they weren't able to get this figure until the contract / tender was available. Hope that helped.
