Browse Forums Building A New House Re: all the sand - PCI Done, and a bit of shopping!! 241Aug 26, 2010 3:08 pm Hi all, So yesterday i got the keys!!!! YAY!!! Last night we grabbed some takeaway and went and ate it down at the house but i tell you what it was bloody freezing! and felt so strange even opening the front door and then being in there at night. I absolutely love me bathrooms and i am just so wrapped in how they turned out. Tomorrow morning i have to meet the carpet guys there at 7 urggg, but once that is done we can start to move some things in. I am meeting a wardrobe guy out there tonight and am hoping that they can get these in sometime next week, the girls beds are delivered on Monday and then next weekend the tiles are getting laid. Yes i finally made a decision and decided to just go ahead with tiles, i managed to get the ones i wanted which have been discountinued so they had to get them from qld but they were a bargain reduced from 67 to 39 and the tiler is going to lay them for a great price. Someone from Kresta is coming out next Tuesday to give me a quote for the blinds for the sliding doors and my bedroom and meeting another tank guy out there tomorrow. Still waiting for the quotes from the concreters its ridiculous i just dont understand some trade people. Also going to need some help deciding on my splashback, the glass idea or the mirror has gone as i had to put the extra funds into the floor tiles. I have found either a large black glass looking tile or some smaller square silver sparkly tiles. I will take pics of them today and then get people to give me there opinions. Well thats all for now! Will post some pics and update later tonight. V Re: all the sand - KEYS I HAVE KEYS! 242Aug 26, 2010 3:25 pm Congrats on the Keys all the sand! Im Sooo excited for you! Tonight i ordered the built in wardrobes and found a fantastic concreter who actually came out straight away and did the quote for me then and there, not like the other two who i still havent got the quotes from (actually i called one of them today and he told me to just let the other guy do it = idiot). This concreter is also going to do my stormwater for me, so i finally feel im getting somewhere. I have to meet the carpet installers at 7 tomorrow morning!! cant wait to see what it looks like. Will also start moving a bit of stuff over tomorrow. Ive decided on large black tiles for my splashback, i took one there tonight and i think they will look great. So i will get the tiler to do these next weekend when he does the floors. Only problem i found was a big scratch in the bathroom counter and realised that the handles havent been put on level, SS said he will get onto this tomorrow. Starting to feel really excited now that its all coming together!! V Re: all the sand - KEYS I HAVE KEYS! 250Aug 27, 2010 9:03 am Awesome, cant wait for piccies Can you PM the details of the concreter? Re: all the sand - KEYS I HAVE KEYS! 251Aug 29, 2010 9:44 pm Hi All, So over the weekend, we have started to move a few things over, problem is because there are no wardrobes in the girls rooms yet i just seem to have stuff everywhere with no where to put it all. Also because the tiles are not down yet there just seems to be dust everywhere. I am hoping to move some larger items over the week so i can start to make at least some of the rooms complete ie. move the tv cabinet over and then get the lounge delivered so then the lounge room can be done, hang a couple of pictures etc. Tomorrow the girls bed is getting delivered so at least i can set them up nicely and start to get there room a little more organised. Im totally buggered already though and just can wait to actually start living in the new house. Your house is gorgeous Re: all the sand - few pics of carpet and tiles 257Sep 04, 2010 7:32 pm Hi all, Thanks again for all the comments, we are still not in the house, we were going to move the larger items over this weekend however with the weather the way it is its just not possible. The tilers came this morning and have made a start, cant wait to get back there tomorrow to check them out, im hoping they look as good as i hoped they would. Splashback should also be done tomorrow. Wardrobes are now in and i will take pics of those tomorrow. We ended up going through Image and they were great and so well priced, blinds have been ordered for the sliding doors and my bedroom, the girls room and the remaining window in the kitchen area. They were great and so well priced as well. I ended up going with verticals which i know are a little outdated but there really were the only practical option for us. Girls beds have also been delivered and put up and i love them, cant wait to start decorating the rest of there room now. And finally i have added a couple of pictures of todays purchases, went out for a new vaccum that was going to cost around $300 ended up spending way more than that on a vaccum and also ended up with: - a coffee machine (which i do love) - dvd player for girls playroom (jayda broke the last one) - new PS3 remote - new deep fryer Well till next time, happy building, renovating etc!! This weekend we have booked a truck so we can finally move all the big furniture into the house and then finally start living in my new house!! I cant wait to wake up there in the morning and have a shower etc, its so close to the girls kindy that we can walk there, im really really really just looking forward to having my own place again. So below are a few pics, the tiles are down and look great, im slightly disappointed with the grout in some areas but ill have to wait and see if i get used to it before i bother trying to change it or fix it. The girls bedroom is 90% complete, i just need to put the rest of the decals and canvas art up and thankfully that will be one completed room! Oh and how could i forget, the splashback is in!! Ended up going with 600X600 black tiles to keep the costs down: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thats all for now.
