The switch is a unit that when the tank runs dry, it switches to a mainswater bypassing the tank line. It is considerably more expensive. Toliets can be used when power is off. I guess when tank empty, less elect used by pump, less wear... The float unit is where when the tank level is too low, a float turns a tap on and the tank is filled above the desired reserve level. Tank always has water in it. Pump always used... toilets wont refill if power out... less space to refill with rainwater... So which one do people reccomend..??
