Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 23, 2009 9:54 pm Hi Everyone! I have been reading this forum for months now and need a little...well actually a lot of help! I need some ideas with floor plans and builders. I quite like the Atlantique by Carlisle Homes but my absolute favourite is National Builders Montclair with perhaps turning bedroom 4 into an extension of the alfresco. I want to look at all of my options before I decide. Basically we want 3 bedrooms plus a study and two separate living areas. We would prefer larger sized bedrooms. An alfresco is a must and we also need to have 9' ceilings. We will be building in Heritage Springs in Pakenham. Any ideas???? Oh and I would really love a HUGE pantry and need a decent sized linen closet. Ok so I know what you're all thinking...I need to buy a tattslotto ticket if I want all of that. Well I have so I will let you know! Thanks Re: Help!! I need ideas please :) 3Sep 28, 2009 10:14 pm I live in SA so am not familiar with the builders in your area but have you tried taking your favourite bits out of each of the houses and bringing them together for your own custom design?? The alfresco an 9' ceilings can be upgraded onto any house. I need ideas please :) 4Sep 28, 2009 10:29 pm Hi Smelly Melly, I agree with Sammy, take your favourite bits from each house and come up with something unique. We are also building in SA but we found that quite a few builders will build completely custom designs (single storey) without charging an arm and a leg. Good luck Cheers Jon Builing our First Home in Ridgehaven SA https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=23429&p=316543#p316543 Re: Help!! I need ideas please :) 5Sep 28, 2009 10:36 pm I agree take the best bits from each design and design you own home, that way you can also take in consideration the aspects of your block and get a design you like that fits with your block. We designed our own house and took the design to drafty to draw up working plans, then went to several builders for a quote. So in the end we got the design & the builder we wanted. I need ideas please :) 8Oct 13, 2009 9:36 pm Hey there, we are also building in Heritage springs- love the estate! try rawdonhill homes, they can change designs and are very very flexible!! a guy we are dealing with is named Lincoln in marriott waters! very helpful!! Re: Help!! I need ideas please :) 9Oct 14, 2009 8:45 am Be wary though, custom designed jobs can be quite expensive. As far as I know, none of the major builders accommodate custom designs as they're generally volume builders who stick to their own designs. That being said, if your block is wide enough, the Atlantique by Carlisle can have a study created by extending the width of the garage something similar to the Montclair and 9' ceilings is an option as well. Good luck! Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3212 Hi there, I'm a conplete newbie to this, but I'm looking to put a floor down in my 6x9m shed.
