Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 22, 2009 9:52 pm Hi all We are about to sign our contract and I am interested in what number of working days everyone's builder has been putting in for clause 9b - time to complete works? I want to know if there is a standard or whether it varies dramatically from builder to builder. Any actual build times versus contracted time would be good to hear aswell. We are building a two storey house in Perth. Thanks in advance! Re: Signing contract - building time in WA 2Sep 22, 2009 10:21 pm I'm building in the south west of WA, and my build time has been given at 250 days. But thats for a single storey home though, no idea what a double storey would be!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Signing contract - building time in WA 3Sep 23, 2009 2:06 am Our contract says 200 days. As for actual build time, its looking like 18 weeks. Re: Signing contract - building time in WA 4Sep 23, 2009 11:41 am We are building a 2 storey home by a project builder and our contract said 365 WORKING days. We were verbally assured it would not take that long, but it looks like it's going to. Our time frame so far. PPA Signed in February 2008. Contract, final drawings etc August 2008. Started on site October 2008 and slab laid January 2009. We are just about at lock up. Ground floor glazing was completed yesterday. Still waiting for internal and some external rendering to be finished. Ours has been an extremely stressful build to date. Re: Signing contract - building time in WA 6Sep 25, 2009 3:33 am Sorry to hear that jaelee, sounds like you are having a stressful time. We have just signed the contracts and been assured it won't take the time on the contract (375 working days). By my reckoning we should then be in for June 2011 which will be ridiculous. Ours is just a few tweaks off a standard plan and the builder is already putting a couple of houses up in the same street so I am hopeful that we can move quickly. Prestart booked for Oct 6th and finance sorted so with any luck we can get the slab down soon and get a good build over summer. Planning on being in with time to spare for Christmas 2010. You talk about deletions, are they variations or PS and PC adjustments? pleas list them 1 16637 Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not? Thanks ❤️ 0 8999 I've decided, after a period of confusion (my building broker told me it's probably not worth it to use a lawyer, but others have said it is a must) that I definitely will… 7 27971 |
