Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 22, 2009 9:45 pm Hi All We had our walk though today in preparation for handover on Thursday. The handover company we hired found the majority of little touch ups required and everythng looks great - apart from two crooked walls. When I pointed these out to the building supervisor, he shrgged his shoulders and said "it's fine, the law says we can have up to 6mm bend in a wall". To my eye the wall in one case is at least that if not more, you can see it from the other end of the hallway. The other one the skirting is buckled under the wall and looks terrible. When I asked the handover inspector we hired, he said the tolerance is 4mm over 2m of wall. Either way we want them fixed before handover as they are structural defects, not like paint chips etc. Can anyone please advise exactly what the law is, and can we challenge the builder prior to handover about it? Thanks! Re: Handover help ***bump*** 2Sep 26, 2009 9:52 am Melton Hi All We had our walk though today in preparation for handover on Thursday.
