I suggest contacting your state consumer affairs (Consumer Affairs Victoria here) for advice. You are talking about alot of money to replace a benchtop. We have a similar issue after the builders colour consultant miss-spelt both our external colours which resulted in a wrong colour being painted. If you can produce evidence that it's highly likely a mistake has being made by the builder you may have a case. Worth chasing up. We will be pursuing our issue.
