Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 22, 2009 5:00 pm We're too excited to wait until we have final plans to start our own thread and coz we reached a milestone today - we decided to join in immediately!!! We've been lurking on homeone for a while now getting loads of hints and tips (thanks!!!), but now we want to share our plans with all of you!
We are not very brave when it comes to colours and want a classic looking house, with a few modern touches. So hopefully we will achieve our desired 'look'!!!! So here goes: We have chosen the H3nley Barclay 383 with the Eden facade, although we have taken advantage of the additional options and added a few extras , namely: 1. Spa to Ensuite - although we only want a bath, but this way the toilet is in it's own room!! 2. Grand Alfresco 3. Grand Meals & Living with fireplace 4. Butler's Pantry 5. Larger Laundry - the dogs had to have a bigger 'house' So here it is!!! We've copied and pasted all the additions to the original plan so this is a homemade plan....still waiting for our 'final' plans!! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We've updated our blog with all our colour selections - so have a look!! Promise to keep this updated as we go. Enjoy!! Re: RhinoCharlie's H3nley Barclay....colour app today 22/09 2Sep 22, 2009 6:30 pm Just checked out your colours- really nice And I've got oven envy now too! Double wall ovens are the way to go I reckon. It's all looking fabulous... congrats Re: RhinoCharlie's H3nley Barclay....colour app today 22/09 4Sep 22, 2009 9:47 pm Thanks guys - yeah it's all a bit scary. I'm already doubting my kitchen cupboard profiles now - hopefully I'll be over that by tomorrow!! Re: RhinoCharlie's H3nley Barclay.... 5Oct 09, 2009 1:03 pm Progress in our area! The block next to the big tree with the water meter has had their site cut. So exciting! We've been told ours will be done next week Our SS also mentioned there's a 2 storey Henley going up on our street... Lot 1025...? That will be good to watch, might be the ONLY 2 storey in the whole area! Re: RhinoCharlie's H3nley Barclay.... 6Oct 09, 2009 3:00 pm Oooh it's exciting stuff!!! I wonder which block is getting the 2 storey - could it be the big tree block?! I didn't think you could have a 2-storey house in MR...
So glad yours is starting soon - something for us to look while we wait....and wait....and wait!!! We were meant to get a date this week to go into to sign papers - but surprise surprise haven't heard a peep. Feeling very disillusioned about it all at the moment and we're moving this coming week as well. Oh well!!! Re: RhinoCharlie's H3nley Barclay.... 7Oct 09, 2009 3:25 pm Pretty sure lot 1027 is the corner block, so it's two block towards the big from the corner. We nearly bought that corner block, then decided that after 7 years in this place, we're sick of corners! We're onto our 5th admin now - Mel. Our SS is Paul. He seemed really really nice. The contract process was pretty stressfuly, then the wait afterwards while our block settled seemed to take forever, happy now we've got some action. You guys wont be too far after us once you're all signed up. There's no waiting for titles etc... fingers crossed you get a date soon! Good luck with the move!! Re: RhinoCharlie's H3nley Barclay....Siting and Final plans! 8Oct 27, 2009 6:11 pm Today we signed our Tender and Contracts - glad that's all over. But now we wait....
So we got our siting, which we are very happy with - we've ended up with a decent size back yard for the cricket pitch and my veggie patch!! Also, very happy with our final plans - the additional laundry cupboard fitted in and my lovely kitchen island bench!!! Re: RhinoCharlie's H3nley Barclay.... 10Oct 27, 2009 7:02 pm The house design is really practical and your colour choices are great. I haven't been to a Henley display for a while but have hard they are similar and no one likes them. How will they win customers if they have crappy displays that are too similar??? Oh well! Best of luck with your build Harribeka Re: RhinoCharlie's H3nley Barclay.... 11Oct 27, 2009 7:06 pm Nice plan. Looks really functional and you will love the tv area near the 'kids' bedrooms. (Any kids?) Anyway, looking forward to watching you progress. Building the Pl@ntation Retreat on 4009m2. All moved in!!!!!! Now for the real work https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20588&p=285640#p285640 Re: RhinoCharlie's H3nley Barclay.... 12Oct 27, 2009 7:07 pm harribeka I haven't been to a Henley display for a while but have hard they are similar and no one likes them. Love the plan!!! Thanks Erin - yes it's HUGE - we're so happy that it's rather large!! Although someone just clicked that he would have to MOW it now as well!!!! harribeka The house design is really practical and your colour choices are great. Thanks for your comments Harribeka - I have to admit it wasn't our first choice - but it was the only one that would fit on our block!! Once we made use of ALL the options and designed our own version it's come out really well. Well - we hope it will!! seast Nice plan. Looks really functional and you will love the tv area near the 'kids' bedrooms. (Any kids?) Anyway, looking forward to watching you progress. Thanks Seast - as there are no kids yet, we'll use the TV area as a study...but if my husband had his way we'd be racing the builders as to who could produce first!!!!! The best thing about starting is that it's normally an absolute surprise! One day you'll go out there and *poof* a site scrape Then you get the letter about a month later that says, "we've started your house".... well yeah, I saw that! Have you got your letter yet Ari??? If you guys are far away, I'm sure someone will let you know when they see some movement. I bet Erin will be all over it like a fat kid on a Smartie Re: RhinoCharlie's H3nley Barclay.... 19Oct 29, 2009 4:27 pm aaron4erin Felistopher I bet Erin will be all over it like a fat kid on a Smartie I can't take full credit for that one. I heard it from a Year 8 kid. The joys of working with the young Oh goodness - that is the funniest thing I've read in ages!!!!!!! I had new concrete laid, extended the alfresco and had the sidewalks concreted too. I noticed the concreter didn't put the expansion foam anywhere, there are expansion… 0 8108 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6173 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15884 |
