Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 21, 2009 2:32 pm Hi all, I'm new on this site and wanted to start a post recommending Celebration Homes. We've moved into our awesome new home built by Celebration Homes in Harrisdale approx 4 weeks ago. It has been best possible experience we could have hoped for throughout the whole process. From the time we signed up with the Sales rep, to the prestart where the girls were so helpful even making their own suggestions and right through til handover has been a absolute pleasure and best of all once the slab went down we were in our home in 18 weeks. If you're currently weighing up which builder to use i couldn't recommend Celebration Homes highly enough. Re: Celebration Homes 2Sep 21, 2009 2:42 pm HI, Its nice to hear good recommendation about a builder that I am building with. which house model did you build? Its great to hear that you moved in 18 weeks from slab down! We are currently building with them and its 5 weeks since slab down and we are "plate high" so we are quite happy with their work so far too. Builder: celebration homes,WA Slab down:12-Aug-09 Plate High:21-Sep-09 roof complete : 22-Oct-09 lockup: 19-Nov-09 PCI : 16-Dec-09 Key handover : 22-Dec-09 Re: Celebration Homes 3Sep 21, 2009 2:52 pm We built the Mayfair and made a few changes such as deleting the study and making the walk in robes and master bedroom plus other rooms bigger! How about you, what house are you building? We were very happy with the time it took to build. As we were renting close by through the build we were there nearly every day and there would have been maybe 2-3 days where nothing happened which was good as there was always something new to look at. The best thing is that (touch wood) we have only had 2 small probs with the house, both of which were sorted out by Celebrations within 1 week. Re: Celebration Homes 4Sep 21, 2009 4:24 pm we are building the mayfair too - the games version. We didnt do much changes except add an additional sliding door to the dining area and some electrical changes. We went with the colonial style elevation. I go down to see the site as often as i can, I live 40 min away currently ..... It must be exciting for you , now that you are in your Brand New Home!! Congrats! I am already trying to make a list of things to be done after handover like...aircon, landscaping, painting, downlights to name a few.. hehe Builder: celebration homes,WA Slab down:12-Aug-09 Plate High:21-Sep-09 roof complete : 22-Oct-09 lockup: 19-Nov-09 PCI : 16-Dec-09 Key handover : 22-Dec-09 Re: Celebration Homes 5Sep 21, 2009 4:31 pm It is def very exciting being in our new home. You have got a lot to look forward to thats for sure ... We've been very busy organising all the stuff like you say, the painting, air cond and so-on. Currently doing the reticulation which is a challenge but in a way sort of fun, especially digging the trenches hahah! Good luck with ur build, hope everything goes smoothly for you! Re: Celebration Homes 6Sep 24, 2009 12:00 am thanks canty! We have been slightly disappointed as nothing has happened for the last 3-4 days... I was expecting ffor the timber (roof) to be delivered at least.... hrmm Did you have a delay at this stage as well? I hope reticulation is as fun as you describe best wishes for you to finish up your house nicely too Builder: celebration homes,WA Slab down:12-Aug-09 Plate High:21-Sep-09 roof complete : 22-Oct-09 lockup: 19-Nov-09 PCI : 16-Dec-09 Key handover : 22-Dec-09 Re: Celebration Homes 8Sep 24, 2009 3:08 pm sylista we are building with celebrations to . we are building the strand in byford . I am building the pavillion. It's all very exciting but also hard work with picking everything out. At the moment I'm stuck on what colour to do the front render. My pre start isn't till november so I have plenty of time to work it out. Re: Celebration Homes 10Oct 08, 2009 11:21 am Hi Kappy! Welcome! Just signed final finance yesterday and land settlement on MOnday....prestart is done, and now just waiting for council approval. I think Celebration have been not bad so far.... pre start response is good and they have a relatively good standard selection of inclusions. Slab footings were done today.. woohoo.. The house next door to us is a Celebrations homes too (The strand aswell ) and they have had their slab down for about 5-6 weeks, with the bricks/window frames delivered in that time, and NOTHING has been done since. Re: Celebration Homes 14Oct 12, 2009 4:59 pm Hi All, Im building the Mayfair with urban elevation in landsdale and i am amazed on how quick things a progressing. Hi Mayfair, Where abouts in Landsdale are you building? They did our slab today, woohoo!! I guess it'll probably be another 2 weeks or so before anymore action happens now. Your slab should be poured any day now. I was at the stage your currently at last Thursday, and I drove past today and the slab was done. It's taken about a week for them to clear the land, do the footings and pipework and then have the slab poured. Hopefully the rest of the process goes just as smoothly and efficiently. Re: Celebration Homes 16Oct 13, 2009 11:24 am Hi Jw, I'm building in Landsdale rise just off landsdale road. Where abouts are you building? Thanks for the information about the process, i thought the slab was actually down. I'm building the Strand with an addition of a study room in C.V. It's been a long long process just even getting started so I must say I'm super duper excited we're finally in the settlement stage...imagine when the house is actually getting built! Just posting because I mentioned to work colleagues who I'm building with and got a "good luck!" response from one of them so was in major stress mode for the day (I'm a stresser) and went googling for some feedback and thankfully this thread brought me back to a much calmer stage. Any tips to what I should be looking for when building? My fiance is the one that's been through it all and is a season builder whereas this is my very first home and I'm so green that everything will just look right to me cos it's my home Thanks for any help...fingers crossed 26 weeks will be the average time cos I have a wedding to plan for too! Double stress. Re: Celebration Homes 18Oct 13, 2009 10:53 pm Hi Bella, Welcome to the Forums.. Do you have a floorplan you can post up? I'd love to see your plans with the added Study. Because the Strand is quite narrow, the home theatre room has already been pushed to the side of the house where all the bedrooms etc are, I'd be interested to see your modified design! As for tips, I'm getting my own inspector in to inspect each stage of construction. My slab has only just been layed, so I'm in the early stages of construction so I dont have too much feedback to give so far. All the paperwork and drawing up of plans and council approval went through painlessly without any hickups. The only slight hickup was that at prestart they tried to charge me an extra $400 because I wanted a tiled roof instead of colorbond. The prestart lady went and saw her manager and they waived the extra charge because apparently I had signed up before the new charge came into effect. We moved the garage forward and slid it in between the kitchen and the garage and moved the opening to the house from the garage.. It was well worth the extra cost cos that's my personal space! Hahaha Oh damn, I had that same issue and we paid the $400. When we signed it we saw the colorbond that they pre-filled in and we said we wanted tiles but our consultant said it was not set in stone and that the new law required it to have something there so we didn't question. Then we got hit with the $400 at pre-start and when they checked our paperwork, we apparently signed after the 1st of July new ruling. The other half (surprisingly) didn't complain and just went ahead with paying it so I didn't make a fuss but then again we just paid $2K for shower doors instead of the rails so he probably thought that was small in comparison to doors. But it is a doh! now that I hear you managed to get out of it! We've already had to wait 6 mths for titles to be released and had to change settlement agents so I really hope for no more or relatively smaller hiccups now... Re: Celebration Homes 20Oct 14, 2009 3:25 pm I'm not sure how to attach the plan? I can't attach a pdf or doc so ??? Ask for references and speak to them.
