Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 21, 2009 2:30 pm Hi again to all, As per my earlier post, my wife & I are looking at building a new home with Plunkett Homes. I have done a search on the forum, but was wondering if anyone in Perth has recently built with them? Having not built with them previously, was wondering if there are any comments or what their timeframes are like, etc...? Have built before with Celebrations (twice), Ross North & WA Country Builders/Rural Building Company. I know that Plunkett is a sister company to WACB/RBC. Happy to receive PM's if you prefer. Thanks in advance. Wrexy... Re: Anyone built with Plunkett Homes in Perth recently? 2Sep 21, 2009 2:51 pm Sorry I haven't had any personal experience with them, nor have any idea of their build quality/timeliness. But 2 close colleagues of mine both got quotes from them and they proved to be extremely(!!) expensive which turned them off from Plunkett. Good luck. The last posts I could find were 2005-2007 from people building in Bunbury. I have noticed that adding extra floor space to the home, be it bedroom, carport, verandah or alfresco is more expensive than the last two homes we have built with Celebrations. Then on the flipside, adding things like double 10-lite doors is cheaper. Extra doors, power points & conduits are about the same. Thanks again. Regards, Wrexy... Re: Anyone built with Plunkett Homes in Perth recently? 4Sep 21, 2009 6:47 pm Friends of ours built with Plunkett a couple of years ago and they are very happy with their house. We've got other friends currently building with Plunkett, well they have done pre-start and are waiting for the slab to go down. The estate I am building in has three Plunkett houses that I know of going in and on the weekend I noticed a Plunkett sign on another block. There are only 40 or so lots in the estate so I guess that says something for Plunkett? Re: Anyone built with Plunkett Homes in Perth recently? 5Sep 23, 2009 1:09 pm we are renting a plunkett home from our boss whilst our home is getting built.. its in canning vale in wa.. we moved in 3 days after they had hand over... from various stuff ups and backlogs, loosing finance documents etc it took 3 years to build the house.. we have been in the house since the start and for the 6 month catch up and review they were terrible... the **** quality work, doors not fitting, not being sealled properlly so it gets water logged and swells in winter, the bathroom walls drip with water as it hasnt been done properlly. they didnt seal around the vent in the roof causing water to leak in and mould in the roof, painting was terrible etc then organising out repairmen was hard and they never turned up on time.. from that experience we have had as renters and our boss has had we did not choose to consider them when building.. eek! Harrisdale backyard finally done! I haven’t. But have a Lowe Design home. Not only did I find Matt Lowe patronising and a bully, but the home is NOT TO CODE.
