Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 19, 2009 3:45 am HI all Would like to know how long it took your builder to get your slab down? From site scrap to boxing it up to the pour? Thanks KW.......... “It's just as unpleasant to get more than you bargain for as to get less” George Bernard Shaw. Re: How long did you slab take? 3Sep 19, 2009 8:41 am Hi, Our site scrape was carried out on a Friday, with piering done on the Saturday and our slab was poured on the Thursday. From what we have been told, you need to allow at least five days between piering and pouring the slab. Cheers, CMET Re: How long did you slab take? 4Sep 19, 2009 8:53 am Hi King Willy we had the following schedule: 21/8 -site scrape 24/8 - delivery piers 25/8- 70 piers in 26-27/8 - further slab prep 28/8 - no pouring because of weather forecast 31/8 - 300M2 of slab done, from 6 Am until 2 PM. Re: How long did your slab take? 9Sep 19, 2009 3:31 pm Thanks to all It seems about a week or maybe 2 is average. I guess it also depends on the block, cut & fill etc. Agi drain & pipes have been mentioned. What that all about? It for water run of I think. If you have a flat block do you still need it? Also, In most contacts it say "work must start in 21 days of the builder getting all the info & permit". Was this the case with most of your builders? We were sent a letter today requesting an extension in time (per clause what ever in the HIA contract) from the 8th to 15th of Sept. We are now 21st with a week of rain forecasted, so don't see it happening this week either. So for us, it will be about 1 month from scrape to slab! AAGGHHH The wait...
