However, I have also heard of them getting a green tinge so I'm not sure what that's all about? Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: For all those using Austral Nougat...please step on in lol 3Sep 15, 2009 9:11 pm Thanks Hels Yeah all light bricks can get it apparently. Should be minimal if they clean the bricks properly...and some bleach gets rid of it lol The only brown brick I was interested in was Mocha and that seems to be all over the place with colours lately I'm not a red brick fan...and some of the creamish ones look orange. so I was struggling lol I didn't think picking a brick would be so hard Deposits paid 29/4/09 Land settlement 12/08/09 Build contract signed 24/08/09 Colours done 28/09/09 BLOG-http://www.eljaysbuild.blogspot.com/ Re: For all those using Austral Nougat...please step on in lol 4Sep 15, 2009 9:17 pm Yes it's not an easy job. I really wanted Boral bricks but PD wouldn't let us Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: For all those using Austral Nougat...please step on in lol 5Sep 15, 2009 9:29 pm Can't tell you if we're happy with them yet, as our build has not started......we've just signed the contract. We've chosen dark brown stained timber windows, off white mortar with flush finish, Colourbond Dune roof, Surfmist garage door, rendered portico in Dune. We actually got this combination from a display home, even though it was not the house design we went with. Haven't got as far as choosing the driveway! Re: For all those using Austral Nougat...please step on in lol 6Sep 16, 2009 7:26 pm we used these bricks, with white window frames, dune gutters, night sky facsia , ebony coloured roof tiles, and it looks good, there are pics in my thread if interested Re: For all those using Austral Nougat...please step on in lol 7Sep 16, 2009 7:56 pm We also used Nougat. We have Dune roof, dune gutters, dune garage door, dune downpipes and dune front door. We have Jasper Render and surfmist fascia. I'm pretty happy, I probably would have liked the bricks to be a bit whiter/lighter, they changed the Nougat bricks a while ago and I think I prefered the old Nougat ones. We will be changing our front door to a timber look i think as the Dune blends in a bit too much to the brick. We where give a list of house which were build with the Nougat so we drove around looking at a few houses and it does look lovely once you see a house built with it. We are building with a colourbond roof which is Woodlen grey colour, also having our spouting/guttering and window frames the same colour, and using the Dune colour for facia and downpipes, garage door and front door. I have decided on Nougat I'm not a red brick fan and some of the cream ones have a orange tinge to them. This one seems very modern, clean and a lot of colours will go with it Keep the pics coming, I have to pick my exterior colours by Monday 10am lol I'm starting to wonder if I'm game enough to do something like this http://i440.photobucket.com/albums/qq129/EljayC/couldthisbeit2.jpg With my house though I don't have the 2 extra windows on the right. Anyone else game enough or is that stupid enough to do something like this??
