If yours is anything like mine the forecasted rain early next week will hold things up again. The joys of trying to start in winter heading into spring. We will be the experts on being patient!! Hope something happened for you today. Went past the block again today and still no work. Another beautiful day wasted. I did get a call from my neighbour this morning though... he feels that the trench that has been dug on the boundary is actually half on his side and wants it filled in and done all over again. I have spent my day making calls when I could while I was at work to try and find out if the contractors could have gotten it wrong or if my neighbour just has rocks in his head. I ended up getting a copy of our survey plan so I will head off to the block tomorrow with my tape measure and see if I can sort this out myself. I will get pics up soon, I just haven't had the chance to work out how to get them off my phone and on to my computer. For anyone who is thinking of changing positions at work, building a house and getting married in the same year... perhaps space it out a little. Lol I will let you know how I go tomorrow. Actually, may not get the chance... its my bucks night tomorrow night! They probably have. They tend to over dig, so they get the foundation in the right spot. The boards will be on his side of the property. I had to fill in my neighbours side, it was too hard, dad gave them 10 bags of potting mix and they did it themselved. Just tell your neighbour you will get back to him and don't. Trust your builders they are not going to build on his property, court cases cost too much. I kinda figured as much and when I went there yesterday it honestly didn't look as bad as my neighbour was making it out to be. Took the survey plan with me as well and measured it out, the fence is definitely on our side of the boundary. Doesn't really bother me at all as it is pretty right at the front of the block but at the back it is 17cm on our side of the boundary according to the survey plan. I am guessing that is why it looks like it might be on his side a little bit. Not too worried about it, I am sure that it is all going to be fine. I also spoke to the footings contractor, the reason they had to stop was because the ground must still have been a little too wet and our trenches kept collapsing in on themselves. He has said that they will start again on Wednesday so fingers crossed that the have more luck this time. On a side note, I had a great time with my boys last night! I didn't want anything that could get out of hand so we went bowling til midnight and then went to a 24hr maccas after that. My mate did a great job of pulling it all together and I wouldn't have had my bucks night any different . At least you know where you stand with everything now, rather than just driving past each day hoping for something to have happened. Glad your bucks night went well. Yes, you are a sucker for punishment changing jobs, building and getting married in one year. Almost 2 years ago now, we bought our block, planned a 6 week o/s holiday and eloped all around the same time. Yes, I feel the stress for you. At the same time it is ever so exciting and keeps you on a natural high. Any pics of the house? Would love to see what those bricks look like. Hope married life is treating you both well V Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13771 You have mandatory building inspections and privately engaged building inspections.
