Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 14, 2009 5:26 pm Today I visited our land to check out what is happening with the neighbouring properties because we are hoping to have a site start soon. The land has a mild sidewards slope along most of the street. Our high side neighbour is nearing the completion of their house and because they were first to build, they excavated the land first and installed retaining walls. We noticed today that site cut our neighbours high side boundary had been completed. Unfortunately for my immediate neighbour, the site cut is at a level that makes his retaining walls totally redundant. Before you began building did you attempt to contact your neighbour or estate developer to find out your neighbour's plans? We contacted our neighbours and it gave us a much better idea of the scope of any retaining work required and although the builder quoted on what walls would be required in relation to the contour survey prior to any development, we are now confident that the true scope will be much less. It would be shattering to pay thousands of dollars for a wall only for it to be made redundant only months later. Not to mention the work required to remove the wall itself. 13 6605 Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not?
